Disciplinary action is in order if that's true, but right now it's at the level of "mom claims," so let's wait and see if that's the real, full story.

Also, at least at my high school, a teacher could kick you out of class for "insubordination", which covers almost anything, including talking back, making jokes, and being uncooperative.  Now, that doesn't mean it's ok to kick someone out of class for expressing their political opinions, but kids get kicked out of class for bullshit reasons ALL THE TIME.

But that's kind of the thing. Russia isn't interested in Trump as a leader; that's not the point. He's interested in making the US fundamentally broken for a while and unable to reasonably contest him later.

I think it's also fair to say that Putin is interested in seeing Clinton defeated, though you're correct to point out that the larger goal is to create a state of political chaos here in the U.S. long after the election is over. It should also be noted that the window for an October surprise has basically closed. There is no point in sitting on something that could hurt one campaign once voting has actually started.

I am doubting this one.  Seems to be a little bit ginned up for the outrage.

That article is a great example of lazy and one-sided reporting.  There were obviously other people that saw this transpire, so nothing from their perspective? They only go by the mother's claims?  Yea, I'm not buying it. It is just a clickbait article.

David French's account of being harassed by Trump supporters.

Quote

I distinctly remember the first time I saw a picture of my then-seven-year-old daughter’s face in a gas chamber. It was the evening of September 17, 2015. I had just posted a short item to the Corner calling out notorious Trump ally Ann Coulter for aping the white-nationalist language and rhetoric of the so-called alt-right. Within minutes, the tweets came flooding in. My youngest daughter is African American, adopted from Ethiopia, and in alt-right circles that’s an unforgivable sin. It’s called “race-cucking” or “raising the enemy.”

I saw images of my daughter’s face in gas chambers, with a smiling Trump in a Nazi uniform preparing to press a button and kill her. I saw her face photo-shopped into images of slaves. She was called a “niglet” and a “dindu.” The alt-right unleashed on my wife, Nancy, claiming that she had slept with black men while I was deployed to Iraq, and that I loved to watch while she had sex with “black bucks.” People sent her pornographic images of black men having sex with white women, with someone photoshopped to look like me, watching.

Click on a post and scroll down and you’ll see pictures of black men shooting other black men, close-up images of suicides, GIFs of grisly executions — the kinds of psyche-scarring things that one can’t “unsee.” Had I not deployed to Iraq and witnessed death up close, the images would have shocked me. I quickly got on the phone with Nancy, told her not to look at her website, and got busy deleting comments and blocking IP addresses, but in the meantime a few friends and neighbors had seen the posts.

The next Sunday, friends from church approached, expressing concern not just for our safety but for theirs as well. We live in a community where most of the streets have similar names, and it’s common for UPS drivers, FedEx deliveries, and friends to end up at the wrong house. They interpreted the images as threats, and they didn’t want anyone to drive into our neighborhood, looking for the Frenches, intent on turning image into reality.

Since when was Barry Goddamn Goldwater fundamentally decent?

Just because his ideology was crazy, doesn't make him a bad person. And even at the ideological level, he had certain ideas that would never fly within the modern Republicans - his attitude on gay rights ("I don't care if they are straight, so long as they shoot straight").

Joe you will be missed:

Could you imagine how the debates would of been between him and Trump? Hillary had to be very restrained and try to maintain some poised to not come off as a "Bitch".  Joe would of had none of those restraints.  They would of been quite Epic though maybe not the absolute best for the Country's image.  These debate were not great but only came off as a complete deranged and dangerous lunatic.

I don't see it working near as well. Trump dominated the GOP primary debates despite none of those candidates having any restraint. Trump thrives in a macho personality contest.

Clinton knifed him repeatedly, especially in the first and third debate, precisely because she didn't try that kind of shit. She held back, she play a part that was acceptable for a women to play by not being too aggressive, she didn't rise to anything Trump did and then she simply poked him over and over again till he exploded. Because that's the easiest way to deal with Trump. He's thin-skinned and narcissistic and she played him like a fiddle.

And in a strange way her need to not come off as "bitchy" to conform to stereotypes of how a woman is supposed to act kind of helped her because she was both equipped and experienced in a more passive style where she simply rolled her eyes at him rather then fighting back and because the probably far less successful tactic of direct confrontation with him was not really available to her.

Oh I think Clinton did an excellent job of guiding Trump into one bad moment after another.  She was probably the best because she has great self discipline.

Biden-Trump would of been epic in a Pro-Wrestling sense though would not been great for the Nation's image.

Trump and Sanders would of been a showing the class struggle of 20th century New York City.

Sanders would have been a disaster I think. He doesn't have the temperament to hold back and he would have come off as a bit unhinged and given Trump an easier time of portraying him as a left-wing loonie. (which would almost certainly have been the narrative the GOP would be pushing against Sanders)

Biden? That would have been interesting yeah. But I can't see his tactics from 2012 working on Trump the way it worked on Ryan. Or, more accurately, on the audience. It would all depend on how good Biden would be at switching to a new tactic and trying the same thing Clinton did, which is poking Trump till he exploded.

And now, because of your post and all those glorious Onion articles, I can't help but picture "Diamond" Joe Biden entering the debate stage with the Hulk Hogan theme "Real American" blasting.

(Links actually to Obama's amazing use of the song instead of the official video. This one has Optimus Prime and the Karate Kid. It's too bad Hogan's actually a sad racist--the song, despite it's absurd jingoism, has always brought a nostalgic smile to my face.)
