Were you able to watch Martha Raddich and Charlie Gibson practically in tears last night and not recognize the blatant bias?

I still prefer the MSM (as evidenced by the fact that I watched ABC last night obviously...) and won't be consuming any sort of TrumpTV; but to pretend that the media is providing the unbiased watchdog service that we once relied upon them for is naïve.

Have you ever been able to recognize that people can have personal biases yet give accurate information?  Have you realized that Trump already has cut press off from his functions with a laugh and fed only to favored sources?

The right has liked to pretend a single group controlled the media for most my life; let's see how that works in reality.

A mom* not wanting her daughter to go into a public restroom with a grown adult who has a penis does not make that mom  a bigot. It makes her a scared and concerned mother.

*Disclaimer: the same goes for a dad.

How do they feel about their son going into a public restroom with a grown adult who has a penis? And how do they feel about the dad going into a public restroom with other people's sons? There are a hell of a lot more adults with penises in men's restrooms, and the overwhelming majority of dangerous ones don't identify as female. And statistically, dads are a far greater threat to their daughters than adult strangers with penises who identify as female.

So here is question:

Let's say your a person not fortunate enough to have employer sponsored health care.

And now you have a health insurance through the ACA.

What are you going to do when you wake up one day, to find your health insurance gone, and taken from you by some hypocritical jack asses, who complain about gubment handouts, but don't have one iota of a frickin clue that their own employer sponsored health insurance is made possible through a government subsidy - ie the tax code.

There is a contractual question here.  If the contract exists and the person paying for insurance hasn't defaulted how can the insurance just disappear if the insurance company itself is still providing insurance?

Biologically speaking, Petyr is right. There are only two genders, male and female. As for intersex, that isn't a gender. And other gender identities? Well, anyone can identify however they want, but that doesn't change the fact they'll either have an XX chromosome or an XY.

You are talking about sex not gender. Sex is what plumbing you're born with, gender is how you feel. There is and always has been a difference. Most of the time sex and gender align, sometimes it does not. The question is whether you call the divergence of sex and gender within an individual a mental health disorder or not.

There are XXY, XYY, and all matter of other polysomies of the sex chromosomes around.

There's also the various chromosomal / genetic disorders which allow XX males and XY females.

ETA: I mean disorder on a genetic sexual determination level. Not an individuals gender identity of course.

His climate change policy is indeed my biggest concern for the next 4 years (that and the threat of nuclear armageddon), everything else is reversible.

Oh, and I just remembered that he is anti-vaccinations too, but maybe thats just stream of consciousness and he has had his children vaccinated. It'll probably take a few weeks to unpack all the awfulness he has spouted, and which ones are real threats and which one's random garbage.

But yes, some of those voters will return, some maybe not for a generation. Who knows.

Same.  There is zero chance of US leadership on climate issues for the next 4-8 years.

The fact that politicians and businessmen with a stake in the fossil fuel industry are considered more trustworthy in matters of science than actual scientists by ~50% of the American public is probably my main source of embarrassment as an American citizen when it comes to interaction with foreign friends and acquaintances.  It's mind-boggling, and a major indictment of our education system.  The racism and bigotry and sexism stuff, embarrassing to be sure, but while we might have unique manifestations of those problems in the US those are essentially issues that all countries deal with to one degree or another.

Simple. Your insurance contract is for a set term.  They will not renew risky or unprofitable policies.

It may be that the way the press treated Trump is, with some exceptions like the early October tape, exactly the way Trump wanted to be treated and he behaved accordingly to lure them into it. However, they have no such excuse for Rhom's earlier point: why do I have to wait for Wikileaks to tell me that a DNC operative who was also working for CNN at the time was feeding debate questions to the Clinton campaign? Try as they might have (and almost surely did), it's not Trump that the press screwed over, it's Sanders. And they completely failed to report on any of the shenanigans -- if Wikileaks didn't tell us what happened (as in the case of the mysterious voter registration switching in closed primaries), we still don't know.

And they are syndromic, lowering life expectancy and quality for the patients, besides, if there is a Y  chromosome with the SRY gene being expressed, the person is male, if not, female, medically speaking.

The fact that they only saw the world the way they think it should be instead of how it is lead to this on some level.

I also think that they took an active role in setting up Trump as the winner of the Republican primary with their coverage of him with the prevailing wisdom that he'd be a more favorable match up for Hillary than Rubio or Jeb.

First off, I don't think it was just the press that was caught with their pants down on this. Who predicted this outcome outside of Trump? This was in my estimation a "Shock the World" sort of event.

Secondly, I don't believe that coverage was done with the express purpose of winning him the primary (although that's what the practical effect of the coverage accomplished), he was simply big ratings.

So, it has occurred to me that I haven't done very well this election cycle. I supported Bernie Sanders in the primary and he lost. I supported two local State house representatives and they both lost pretty badly (the latter surprised me, but they are are semi-urban surrounded by rural with few minorities probably making it tough this year). I even supported Russ Feingold through donations, but he lost in the Wisconsin wave. And finally, I supported Hillary financially, and even appeared on local TV saying the US was ready for a woman President (it wasn't).

In future, please don't recruit me for your causes.

If I ever run, can I get you to endorse my opponent?  ;)

Holy shit. This just absolutely takes the proverbial cake.

This is the "a gun in your house makes you statistically more likely to be a victim of gun crime" type of argument taken to the absolute, ludicrous extreme. So now, "statistically" of course, if a girl's dad has a penis, she better watch out. But if there's an adult stranger with a penis around her, well then she is just fine.

The world has gone mad.

Is this link working? Is this real?

young people have always been liberal. And then they grow up, have families become taxpayers and become conservatives. Something about actually paying taxes tends to make people fiscal conservatives. crazy.

"If you’re not a socialist before you’re twenty-five, you have no heart; if you are a socialist after thirty-five, you have no head."

Or something along those lines.
