Winter has come. The Long Night is here.

Tonight is Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, but thanks to the combination of a lunar eclipse on the night of our Winter Solstice, we'll be experiencing the longest, darkest night in nearly 500 years.

Update: it's still Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, but this is an older article. The eclipse happened in 2010.

I'm hosting a bonfire, and currently accepting volunteers to occupy the sacrificial pyre.  Just let me know soon, if there are more than a half dozen of you I'll need to split some more wood.

There will be a cheese platter and some wine before hand.

I heard cheese and wine go well with long pig.

90% sure I have a pagan flute/drum/bass band lined up.  We're working through the 'blood price' part of the negotiations as we speak.

You may want to also be sure to have plenty of obsidian lying about to help deal with the inevitable party crashers;)

It's the Summer Solstice here anyway.

Filthy Kiwi. We'd put a stop to whatever nefarious doings you're getting away with, but its just so far to travel.
