Oh, and for that matter, we did not actually see Maester Luwin die. Yoren died off-stage, although Arya did later find his body, or at least a body dressed in black with an ax in its back - it has been a woefully long time since I did a reread, and I cannot remember if she made an actual identification or just saw a body dressed in black... It likely is, but I think with most of these it's just GRRM leaving himself options for the future in case he changes his mind about someone.
