MasterOfDeath Posted February 27, 2017 Share Posted February 27, 2017 Assuming Bran's mission that the Three Eyed Raven was training him to fulfill is to help stop the white walkers, what significance does learning Jon Snow's true parentage have on it? It seems only a matter of importance to us, the audience, not the world of Westeros. So Jon is a Targaryen...how does that help stop white walkers? Bran will probably know who Jon's real parents are, but he will somehow fail to deliver that news to Jon. But i dunno, unless Jon dies he still has a pretty sweet deal going on with him being named KITN...not as good as King of Westeros, but Jon hardly cares about titles anyway. Lady Sansa's Direwolf Posted February 28, 2017 Share Posted February 28, 2017 The significance of Jon's parentage is his position as part of the prophecy concerning the Prince who was Promised, or Azor Ahai as the show as apparently decided to lump them into the same character. If Rhaegar's other two children had lived, Jon would have been the third head of the dragon, the three needed to fight against the Night King. It was an avenue that Bran would naturally want to explore, but not one of immediate significance to him short of telling his brother what he's always wondered if he ever gets the chance.
