Football - Leicester's Shakespearean Tragedy

Two dead rubbers in the Champions League tonight.

Napoli vs Real Madrid was shaping up well in the first half, but Ramos scored two headers in quick succession meaning the Italians need four. Napoli played so well in the first half and could easily have been ahead on away goals if Mertens's shot had slipped inside the post.

A capitulation on this level following the 'pool game is really not what Wenger needs. It seems he's lost his way, and cannot get back on track. I would say that this seems a good time to step down.

Well, he really should have stepped down earlier. Now, however, it is hard to picture him going out while bringing success. More likely is further decline, thus eroding the groundwork he has laid down for this team over the last two decades. Makes me sad.

You kinda had to feel for Arsenal on that one. They were in the game (not in the competition, that was over after the first leg), until the penalty and red card for Koscielny. And Lewandowski was indeed fractionally offside. And they could have gotten a penalty earlier. Well, at least we got to see the obligatory Piers Morgan twitter meltdown.

Of course that's no excuse for whatever Arsenal did after the penalty; similarities to football were merely coincidental. But the final score was really flattering for Bayern.

ADM sure doesn't look like he is carrying an injury. He's really put himself about since coming on and should have had a goal too.

ETA. two goals in quick succession for Barca. We are in for a tense finish. Barca have done incredibly well to take this tie down to the wire.
