Myrddin Posted April 3, 2017 Share Posted April 3, 2017 I started watching this, but it was hard. I was a big fan of his just from one season. And it was heart breaking to see his struggle ultimately fail. The documentary is based on his home movies during the last year of his life as he and his wife live with the cancer's resurgence and search for a cure. Ultimately, I decided to start rewatching Spartacus instead of finishing the documentary. I'd rather remember him in his prime than to watch his misery. The very last shot of the series, after a long montage of the characters who had fallen throughout the show, they replayed Whitefield's scene where Spartacus embraced his new life: I am Spartacus! When I first saw it, how every many years ago, I almost lost it right in front of the TV. Celebrity deaths usually don't affect me this way. But his did.
