Please rank the list below in order of most intelligent to least. You can add or omit from the list. Do not include pre-teen and 2teens. Pick the most interesting character on the list to you. Tywin Lannister 5. Gallaza Galare (we don't really know too much about her, this one's mostly a suspicion) 6. Roose Bolton 7. Tyrion Lannister 8. Mance Rayder (again, more charming and sneaky than smart) 9. Stannis Baratheon 10. Walder Frey 11. Catelyn Tully (she's very intuitive, but her emotions get the best of her) 12. Lothar Frey 13. Stannis Littlefinger Varys and Illyrio seem to be ahead of their time and that doesn't mean you are "smarter" but everyone I put ahead of LF (except tywin I know) would have known he's just a thief and innovative investor. Lord Lannister Posted April 8, 2017 Share Posted April 8, 2017 Well here's my take on it. Questions 1 & 2 are mostly redundant as they cover the same topic. Petyr Baelish - Literally wheels within wheels turning in his head. The prime expert of manufacturing a scenario where all possible outcomes benefit him. Tywin Lannister - Similarly brilliant on a political scale, his main weakness being he's blind to his children's actions. Aemon Targaryen - The literal embodiment of a sage. Varys - An expert at learning secrets and using them to his advantage Tyrion Lannister - Brilliant, but at times his greatest enemy. Roose Bolton - Often overlooked, but brilliant in acquiring power for himself. His only possible mistake was allowing Ramsay to go unchecked. Barbrey Dustin - She seems to literally know everything about the people in the North, what motivates them and what they're likely to do. Her jaded personality is her main weakness. Mance Rayder - Charismatic, frank and honest. Has his share of wit and while not one of the grand schemers of the land, he's unlikely to set himself up for failure. Skahaz Mo Kandaq - I think there's more going on behind the mask. Lothar Frey - Walder Frey's brains. Some of them. Rhaegar Targaryen - While he certainly did some foolish things, I don't think he was unintelligent. Merely that his reach surpassed his grasp. Hizdahr Zo Loraq - At times inflexible, he's certainly trying to make the most of being Dany's consort. Catelyn Tully - More intuitive than intelligent, the problem being her emotions so often guide her. Walder Frey - Say what you want, he's made the most of his alliance with the Lannisters, though it remains to be seen how successful this will be, now that he has the universal hatred of virtually all Westeros. Stannis Baratheon - His problems are that he's inflexible and doesn't understand how people work. If he can work around these handicaps he's often quite cunning. Ned Stark - His own worst enemy at times. Gallaza Galare - We don't know much about her, but her policy of Dany assimilating herself into the Mereenese culture to win over the people seems doomed to fail. She'll still always be a foreign ruler. Melisandre - Without her powers, she'd have little going for her. She's already misinterpreted her own visions more than once. Theon Greyjoy - He can't figure out who he is. This is before the Reek transformation. So it's a small wonder he's doomed to failure. Robert Baratheon - Living with the twincest going on right before him without a whiff of suspicion? Brandon Stark - Everything we've seen of him, seems to indicate he was quite oaf'ish.
