If you could have changed the birth-places of 5 characters, who would they be?

Let's say you have the power to change the region in Westeros in which five characters were born. They will be born into a social position which is equal to the one they would have been born into otherwise, and presumably this change of location will either make them better or worse people depending on whom and where you pick.

Which five and where in Westeros will they be born instead?

1. Stannis Stark

My first choice by far. He'd have been much better off as a Stark than as a Baratheon. Even if he's still prone to brood, the North is a cold and hard place, just like him, so it isn't as strange if that's how he turns out. No more pompous and rich southerners to irritate him with their corruption and hypocrisies. He'll be able to take comfort in the fact that his brothers are now Ned and Benjen. He'll be free to either join the Wall, create a cadet Stark branch, or stay in Winterfell in some secondary position like master-at-arms. The only real downside is that Davos Seaworth probably ends his life on a gibbet instead of being knighted.

2. Sansa Tyrell

It's so obvious to me. She'd be much better off as Margaery's sister. Plenty of chivalry, three older brothers who are all honourable men and either very wise or very militarily proficient. Sansa just wasn't meant for the North.

3. Brandon Baratheon

Imagine if Brandon the Wild Wolf was now the size of Robert Baratheon, or even bigger? Such a man might even make Robert seem mild, though we never quite got an idea of how good of a fighter Brandon was. Plus it means that Robert might not become king, which really didn't ever suit him anyway.

4. Cersei Martell

It would actually benefit Cersei to be born into the Martells rather than the Lannisters. She gets to grow up in a place where women are more or less equal in terms of ruling, she no longer has Tywin as a father, and if she still fancies Jaime, it's no longer incest. Plus that's one less person who hates Tyrion, and no group of girls visits Maggy the Frog that one day.

5. Arya Martell

Almost the same reasons. No reason why she can't learn how to use weapons if her uncle is Oberyn Martell. Plus Doran seems like a very let-them-figure-things-out kind of dad, but he'd also know when to draw a line.

1. Theon Greyjoy - Theon Stark: Imagine Theon actually getting raised by Ned Stark as his son. Granted, if Theon is going to be the third son of Ned, then that means he's younger than Bran, so we wouldn't get to see as much of Theon as we do of him in the series, but if he was a Stark all along, it would have been much better for him.

2. Jaime Lannister - Jaime Arryn: This way Jon Arryn has a perfectly healthy son and heir, and he doesn't have to marry Lysa Arryn since what would be the point? Plus Jaime has no reason to join the Kingsguard, so he becomes Jaime Arryn instead. Plus Tywin is forced to acknowledge that Tyrion is his only son and heir.

3. Joffrey Baratheon - Joffrey Greyjoy: A little psychopath like Joffrey would be better suited to being an Ironborn. He'd also be much less of a threat on the Iron Islands. Given his age, we can assume that Balon would try to raise him as his last son and heir, which means he makes an enemy out of both Euron and Asha. Either way one of them gets rid of him somewhere down the line.

4. Sandor Clegane - A knightly house in the Stormlands: I can't think of an equivalent to House Clegane in the Stormlands, but if there is one, Sandor would be way better of there than with his older brother.

5. Tyrion Lannister - Tyrion Martell: To make things confer to your standards, he would be the second son of Prince Doran Martell. And sure, Doran might not like it that his son is a hunchback whose birth resulted in his wife's death, but I think that Tyrion would be far better off in Dorne. Arianne, Quentyn, and Oberyn would all be much less likely to hate Tyrion for things he wasn't able to control.

1. The Mountain-Smoldering Valyria

2. Darkstar-The Dothraki Sea, born to a Lhazareen

3. Lysa-Asshai. Where are all the children anyhow?

4. Janos Slynt-Euron's house.  With a sliding door to his room.

5. Dany-Craster's Crib

I don't really get this. If you change where and how a character is born then they cease to be that character. Their personalities, goals and ambitions would almost be entirely different. They'd be someone new.

Like I saw up there that Stannis should be born in the North cause his personality matches the Starks. Except Stannis was not born that way -- he's rigid and joyless because he saw his parents die when he was a kid. Tyrion would probably not be half so book clever if it hadn't been for his family's neglect. Joffrey would probably be a nice kid if he hadn't been raised by Cersei, and so on.

Assuming they are the same person.

The Mountain heir to the Dreadfort.
A loyal monster under King Robb Stark? How would he fare around Ramsay.

R+L Jon that knew about his fate. Where Robert has accepted that Ned would be raising him. Conflicted with the Targ part of his family. Loyalty issues. Instead of naming a King in the North would the North fight for King Jon Targeryan?

Khal Robert Baratheon! Not so much changing the birth place. But if after RR the king decides to follow his heart and go carve out some part of Essos for the fun of it.

Euron Lannister.

Agreed. This is a strange game

1.Sansa Tyrell - She is a good sample of a Southern noble lady. Sansa is a follower of the Sevenwith a keen interest in music, poetry, singing, dancing, embroidery, and other traditional feminine activities. She is enthralled by songs and stories of romance and adventure, particularly those depicting handsome princes, honorable knights, chivalry, and love. Plus it is easier to find her ideal husband in the Reach.

2.Catelyn Targaryen - She could make an excellent queen. Pious, proud, strong, kind, and generous, honorable and holding duty over desire as a governing principle of behavior. Catelyn also has a strong grasp of politics and possesses considerable insight into what makes Westeros run.

3.Stannis Stark - A place without the Southern nobility would be better for him.

4.Cersei Martell - She could finally become a ruling princess.

5.Joffrey Targaryen - Targaryen madness.
