After losing three straight games (two in OT), that was not what I expected from the Oilers in game 6.

Congrats to the Predators for moving on to the Conference Finals.

Popping in to once again wonder if Sisyphus is a Blues fan, as he endlessly rolls that boulder up the hill.

This annual playoff tease is getting tiring, but I can't just give up, right?

Right?

Commence meltdown!

e:  For more actual posting, I don't understand Sullivan's reticence to change his lines up once it became clear how down the Pens were.  Trying out new stuff at the start of the game wasn't bad, but why keep them?  Hainsey was dire; a losing game 6 seems like an excellent time to bust Streit out and see what he can do. The problem lies pretty much within the defensive corps and their weakness at the moment.  The Pens can't generate offense in part because they're needing to bring all of their forwards to backcheck just to support their defense and the Caps have switched to trying to clog up the neutral zone far more than they did in earlier games which stifles the Pens' few counter-attack chances.  Schultz was making up for Letang's absence for a while, but he isn't quite cutting it.

I would agree.  They pretty much have to bring in Streit.  I'd also swap in Archibald, just for a little hunger and energy.

They really miss Daley.

Yeah, Daley going out hurt a lot too.  And now if you do try out Streit and/or Archibald (I agree with you there too) you're doing it for the first time in a game 7 which seems all kinds of sketchy.  Game 6, once your loss became pretty clear, was the time to do that.  As an added bonus, you'd maybe turn that game around a bit and prevent it from being the demoralizing rout it was.  Oh well.

Love seeing those Rags lose, but man am I fucking tired of Pierre McGuire. His trivial knowledge bullshit schtick is played out and I don't think he adds a whole lot to the game anymore imo as Doc and Edzo do just fine on their own. NBC really needs to look at an overhaul of their hockey guys. Milbury and Jones need to be put out to pasture, no one wants to hear two goons bitch and moan about how great hockey was in their day. McGuire would be an ideal replacement for dumb and dumber though, and then I wouldn't have to hear him talk about some random shit like how Tom Kuhnackl's dad was some great hockey player in Germany back in the day...end rant.

Yep.  Game six was the time to do that.  They were having such a hard time with the breakout in game 5....

Oh well..  I still really like what i see from Sullvan though. I just don't think this is our year.

I do enjoy getting to crack up once a game or so as I hear Pierre describe the details of [obscure new player]'s favorite meat to cheese ratio in whichever sandwich they bought at their high school's third away tournament or whatever it is.  I think its hilarious and entirely ignorable.
