Hatched a Phanpy this morning, which allowed me to evolve a Donphan.

It's very frustrating trying to decide on which 'mon to power up. For every one that I have, it feels like I either don't have any candy at all (Ursaring, Eeveelutions, Sandslash), or I have a lot of candy but I'm also looking to spend it all on another evolve sometime soon (Victreebel, Vileplume, Kingdra). So I went with Kingler. I have 70+ candy, and 7 Kingler. It's also surprisingly good.

At some point this weekend I'm going to have to try to get into another long-term gym or two. I'm sure there's very little difference I can make to my stardust shortage, but at long last I'm finally getting to the point where I need storage upgrades. 100 coins per day would be a lot more useful than my current 20. I could really use the incubators too.

100 coins a day??? I'm lucky to get 100 a month...

Been an interesting fewdays...got a Slowking, Ursaring, Meganium, Quilava, and I thought another, but I can't remember.

I have never received a single coin.

Also, all of you are mentioning 'mon that I've never heard of.  What the hell?  Now that I have a pokestop near my house I've been playing it a lot more.  Still, I'm pretty sure I've been on level 22 for all of 2017 so far.  I don't know how to advance.  I've also been stuck on the same 10km egg for nearly a month.  My fitbit tells me exactly how much I walk a day.  It's like pGo only collects 1km for every 20 miles you walk.

Same. Actually, 80-100 is pretty much exactly what I net in a month.

As to evolving mons, the only ones that matter which you choose are the ones that you will use to fight, and I guess that's like the 5-10 (or w/e) 3000+ ones, Cloyster, Jolteon and Machamp. The rest I don't really care which one I evolve since I'll probably discard them anyway, but for the ones I use to fight, I only evolve and power up the Wonders.

I will say that sometimes some of the High Defense ones can be good fighters too, or maybe they can be a B-Team or C-Team in assaulting a tower.  Move sets can make a difference too, especially if the move set matches the Mon type, it gets a bonus on damage.

The advantage of living in a fairly rural area is that the gyms have a fairly low turnover, particularly since there are fewer active players every week (though still a fair amount). So I'm pretty lucky to be bringing in 2 gyms despite being pretty low level compared to many active players (27).

100 coins/day is the maximum, which I'd love to have. I can't see me getting that anytime soon though - the downside of living in an area with low numbers of active players is that any gym you take never gets leveled up to 10, and thus is easy pickings if anyone does happen to swing by.

Since Gen 2 released, I'm still seeing Pokemon that I don't recognise.

Pokemon Go is pretty bad for not measuring distance that well, but 1km per 20miles is way worse than anything I've heard of previously. Are you putting your phone in your pocket? Are you sure it doesn't shut the app off halfway through?

I'm sitting at level 16. Haven't caught anything juicy lately. Do you see more 3rd evolution pokemon the higher level you are?

Yes, as you move up through the ranks you see different and bigger Pokémon. I think there are some you don't see until level 20, and I know that if you see some powerful Pokemon now you will be unable to catch them at level 16.

Got my third 100% IV Pokemon today; an Onix that I hatched. I'm hopefully be able to evolve it sometime next week, though I have to walk my Scyther for another 10 km to get those last two candies first.

I've got one perfect mon altogether - an Arcanine. Need more candies to boost it, though.

I cba checking the IV score, I only power up the wonders and am content knowing that probably doesn't make much of a difference either.

You're correct in saying IV probably doesn't make much of a difference for most Pokemon, but it's not completely irrelevant when you get to the higher levels, I think the difference between a 100% Dragonite and a 0% Dragonite is several hundred CP. Of course, that only matters if you have a Dragonite...personally speaking, there's 30CP difference between my 100% Poliwrath and 91% Poliwrath. Not a lot, but significant enough that it's worth checking for.

Plus, if trading ever gets introduced, chances are good that 100% Pokemon will be pretty valuable.

Another event! Lasting from Thursday evening UTC for 7 days.

- Increased Rock spawns. Not a lot of rock types, but Golem, Rhydon and Tyranitar are all huge in the gym meta, so definitely worthwhile.

- Buddies will earn candies 4x faster.

- More items from stops

- Also discount Pokeballs from the store, and a new type of hat.

Looks like fun. Glad it will last a week.

Is there a way to find out your gym history?  I gave my son my phone to play p-go for a while and he said he beat the gym like a dozen times, but all I found was most of my pokemon depleted of energy.  My journal doesn't even say that I visited a gym.

I am level 34. I have a Shiny Gyrados and yesterday I evolved a Tyranitar... but I have never so much as seen a Chansey.

No way to check your gym history and it doesn't show up in your journal. There is literally no way to lose HP from a Pokemon without battling a gym. If you're fighting a level 10 gym, you have to take down a Pokemon upwards of 12 times too.

Kabutops is one of only three gen 1 mon that I don't have yet, and I'm less than halfway there in terms of candy, so if this results in more Kabuto spawns that would be great, and the 4x candy will help with getting Charizard and Venusaur.

Got a Chancey from an egg, walking it now. Four times faster is good news indeed!
