Gorn Posted May 19, 2017 Share Posted May 19, 2017 When it comes to Lieberman's positions which are actually relevant to his potential position as FBI chief, let's keep in mind that he previously supported banning internet porn, wanted to censor violent video games, opposed internet free speech, wanted to expand the Espionage Act to cover publishing leaked information in the media, supported introducing an "Internet kill switch" controlled by the US president, opposed Geneva convention protections for terrorism suspects and that he is a strong supporter of death penalty. I don't like him, but my dislike notwithstanding, that seems like it ought to be disqualifying. Given the circumstances surrounding Comey's firing, a reputation for personal integrity seems like another requirement. "He's a lawyer" is about the only thing in the plus column.
