 Was Ted Nugent busy?

He was all about it, particularly when he thought he would get an opportunity to shoot some people. But, then he heard the people might be capable of shooting back and said,"I think I crapped my pants. So I can't go. Sorry guys."

The Devious Aim of Trump's Trip to Saudi Arabia By Robert Fisk

Quote

Donald Trump sets off on Friday to create the fantasy of an Arab Nato. There will be dictators aplenty to greet him in Riyadh, corrupt autocrats and thugs and torturers and head choppers. There will be at least one zombie president – the comatose, undead Abdelaziz Bouteflika of Algeria who neither speaks nor, apparently, hears any more – and, of course, one totally insane president, Donald Trump. The aim, however, is simple: to prepare the Sunni Muslims of the Middle East for war against the Shia Muslims. With help from Israel, of course.

Even for those used to the insanity of Arab leadership – not to mention those Westerners who have still to grasp that the US President is himself completely off his rocker – the Arab-Muslim (Sunni) summit in Saudi Arabia is almost beyond comprehension. From Pakistan and Jordan and Turkey and Egypt and Morocco and 42 other minareted capitals, they are to come so that the effete and ambitious Saudis can lead their Islamic crusade against “terrorism” and Shiism. The fact that most of the Middle East’s “terrorism” – Isis and al-Qaeda, aka the Nusrah Front – have their fountainhead in the very nation to which Trump is travelling, must and will be ignored. Never before in Middle Eastern history has such a “kumidia alakhta” – quite literally “comedy of errors” in Arabic – been staged.

On top of all this, they have to listen to Trump’s ravings on peace and Islamic “extremism”, surely the most preposterous speech to be uttered by a US president since he is going to have to pretend that Iran is extremist – when it is Saudi Arabia’s Wahhabi Isis clones who are destroying Islam’s reputation throughout the world. All this while he is fostering war.

Apparently Ossoff has now reached almost $22.000.000 in total funds raised for his House campaign in Georgia.

Ho. Ly. Shit. This particular election obviously has special symbolic value, but this is all going to be one expensive battle over the next years.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia—The World Bank plans to announce Sunday at an event with Ivanka Trump, the U.S. president’s daughter and senior White House adviser, that Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates have pledged $100 million collectively toward a fund for women who own or want to start businesses, according to people familiar with the announcement.

The money for the bank’s proposed Women Entrepreneurs Fund would be aimed at women in the Middle East, these people said. They described the fund’s goal as helping women start and run successful businesses by easing their access to finance, markets and networks.

But of course they did!

Wait, could things get worse?

Ms. Trump is scheduled to hold a discussion Sunday with Saudi women, including civil society leaders, businesswomen and elected government officials, “to hear their experiences and discuss opportunities for women’s economic empowerment,” according to the White House.

It's so annoying to watch the press fawn over Trump's speech. It was truly awful and it felt like it was written by a college freshman. But hey, because Trump didn't vomit mid way through, piss his pants, and insult Muslims too much, it's viewed as a tremendous success.

Fucking idiots. It's mind blowing how low the bar is for this man.......

Some graduating seniors at the University of Notre Dame walked out of their own graduation ceremony to protest Vice President Pence when he began to deliver the commencement speech on Sunday morning.

President Donald Trump has told advisers he wants to end payments of key Obamacare subsidies, a move that could send the health law's insurance markets into a tailspin, according to several sources familiar with the conversations.

He wants to destroy ACA and apparently either doesn't understand or care that it might destroy the health insurance industry along with it.  Good thinkin' POTUS!

I wish at least some of Ossoff's out-of-district donors had sent that money to Quist in Montana instead. There is a marginal utility to money, especially in House districts, where you just don't get any value for spending more. Ossoff is past that point, Quist is nowhere near it. And Quist may be a better bet than Ossoff to win; though its hard to say for sure.

There's also poor (well not really, he used to work for Goldman Sachs) Archie Parnell in South Carolina-5. That special election is going to be the same day as Georgia's and has been completely ignored.

The AHCA fallout is getting very ugly for the congress people who voted for it. Fiery town hall meetings, even violence.  Should these protests be ramped up another couple of notches (turn the congress peoples lives into living hell without end) or toned down?  And what lesson, if any, will these congress people draw from this experience?  more security? maybe support something positive?

Anyhow:

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/republicans-fearing-for-their-safety-as-anger-threats-mount/ar-BBBlFlA?ocid=ob-fb-enus-580

A growing number of House Republicans are facing physical threats from angry constituents in their districts, leading many to fear for their safety.

In the last few weeks alone, the FBI arrested a man threatening Rep. Martha McSally's (Ariz.) life; a woman pursued Rep. David Kustoff (Tenn.) with her car, and Rep. Thomas Garrett (Va.) heightened security at a recent town hall in response to death threats.

Other Republicans still holding town halls say they haven't felt physically threatened by protesters, but they worry about the depth of anger from some constituents in the polarized environment and what it means for political civility.

My impression is that Ossoff is a much better bet at the moment. The few polls to come out have shown him either leading slightly or slightly behind, so virtually a tie, but he overperformed massively compared to polls in the first round. Also, there has been a huge effort to get new voters registered for him after it was allowed for a set period of time. While it may be true that fundraising gives diminishing returns past a certain points WRT advertising, it's my impression that his campaign is funneling a lot of money into creating actual voters, which you can never have enough of.

You have to give the Saudi's credit for knowing how to properly kiss this baby's ass. Giant billboards with his image posted all over the city, his image projected onto the front of the hotel he's staying at, ornate gold necklaces hung about his neck, etc, etc. He's clearly eating this shit up.

I won't condone violence or threats of physical violence of any sort.

But at this point, after seven years of Republican lies, distortions, and bad faith over healthcare, they deserve nothing but rage and contempt.
