Frey Filet Posted July 12, 2017 Share Posted July 12, 2017 An avid 311 fan of over 20 years, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality sounds of this album. I feel the last five or six albums have been weaker and thought the band was on a downward spiral but this release has me rethinking the equation. It's definitely eclectic and has a decent balance of old and new 311 sounds. Really enjoying "Face in the Wind," "Til the City's on Fire," "Place that the Mind Goes," and "Island Sun." In my estimate it's their best album since Soundsystem, at least. Naturally I have to rank the albums from best to least best: 1. Grassroots 2. Music 3. Blue Album 4. Transistor 5. Soundsystem 6.
