Daenerys acted stupidly, not the show

Why is it that some people can't differentiate between characters and show? They seem to think that every time a character does something stupid, the show is in itself stupid.

Daenerys is fire. She's brash. She's not some cold blooded tactician.

She burned down the food; she made the Dothrakis attack head on; she went straight at the scorpion when she should have been on her guard after having seen its power. She thought she was untouchable on her dragon. She put herself in direct danger when she could have just thought about it for a second. That moment with her against the scorpion is defining that character, the good and the bad.

How was all that so out of character? It made sense.

I get what you're  saying. They call character's  mistakes bad writing. It's  a story being told and we are witnessing the characters reaction.  We just saw who Dany was. The writers are not doing bad at every turn they are quite intentional with certain  character actions. The writers are saying the character had this many choices  and what you are seeing is this characters personality on display in that decision making. Dany choosing to burn the wagons was a dumb mistake by Dany. Tyrion is smart but not all knowing. Thus he under estimated Jaime when it came to strategy. Not an oversight by the writers but the character.

Agreed, things like this aren't wildly out of character. Quite the opposite, perhaps. There are reasons to be critical of how she is portrayed and seems to swing a bit back and forth without those changes being sufficiently contextualized, but in this case the show very clearly led up to her actions with several scenes of her losing her patience with her bad advisers.
