[Spoilers] Rant and Rave Without Repercussion

Recommended Posts

The part where it's revealed that Jon's real name is Aegon had me laughing. Out of all the male Targaryen names that exist, D&D really decided that Rhaegar's second son would have the same name as Rhaegar's first son.

Did the White Walkers really not have a plan to bring down the Wall before they got a wighted dragon? So the whole "get a wight to show Cersei" plan really was a way for the Night King to get a dragon.

I'm glad Littlefinger is finally dead but how it came about is just badly written. Winterfell storyline is arguably the worst part of the whole season.

That was bad.

Westeros is not an absolute monarchy! Instead of trying to get sense into the little mad brain of Cersei "I give shit" Lannister (which is pretty useless), Dany and Jon should have called a council of all great lords of Westeros (including Cersei if you wish). There they could have presented the wight and tell their story. I think there would have been a good chance that a majority of these lords would have chosen Dany's and Jon's side and without the support of these lords Cersei's resources and options would be small. She could have refused help, but then she had to have good reasons or else the other lords would question here mental sanity. And if she had promised help, the other lords would have followed her example. But that would be to easy.

Littlefinger's execution scene was arranged in a way so that the viewer gets the biggest surprise possible. But in truth, it was unrealistic and looked like the plot of a bad crime show. It starts with the fake trial of person A only to reveal theatrically that person B was guilty. And of course the accusations of the judge and two clever lines from Sansa's brother Bran were enough to satisfy those present that Littlefinger was guilty. I think Tyrion's trial was fairer than this one, Tyrion at least had the chance to demand a trial by combat and there were at least a few witness's statements.

But I am not mad, at least I figured out the showrunner's master plan. They let the quality of the plot decline so dramatically to motivate George RR Martin to write his books faster. Or else A Song of Ice and Fire would be an unfinished book series with a terrible finished TV adaptation. That should give the author the right motivation to end the series.

I'm glad this shitfest is over. GRRM better finish the books if he  wants his story and legacy to mean anything. I know he got a shit load of money but these morons just ruined the story and characters he built over 20+ year. So he better wake up and finish the series if for nothing else but to show how fucking stupid and awful D&D are. RR was based on a lie my arse. If the morons read the books they'd know the war didn't start until Jon Aryn raised his banners, which was well after Lyanna got kidnapped and after Brandon and Rickard got killed and not till Aerys demanded Ned and Robert's heads. But the dumbfucks decide to have RR based on a lie because R and L were in love.

Except the thing is they actually do know about the execution of Brandon and Rickard Stark and the calling for Ned and Robert's head which is shown and narrated in the Lore and Histories of Westeros on the Season 1 Blue Ray. Dumb and Dumber are straight up just forgetting their own lore established for the series. Remember how those statues Stannis burned were humans according to them or how Kings Landing was suppose to have 500,000 people and now apparently has a million?

Jeez, if you're that desperate for GoT sex just go and search for some adult themed parody movies.

I'm glad they didn't waste more than 20 seconds on it. There was no reason to. The amount they showed was more than enough for the audience to get the message.

1, it wasn't about sex.  It was about romance.  I actually like Jonerys as a couple, unlike most people on this forum, but the way Podeswa handled it wasn't romantic to me.  It was just abrupt, like ripping off a band aid.

2, this is Rant and Rave.  I'll rant about what I like, whether it's justified in your eyes or not.  So take your 'desperate nerd, just go watch porn' shit and piss off.

Murder of LF was uncalled for.

We all cheered when he killed Lysa and Sansa lied to save him.  He saved Sansa from Cersei.  He saved Jon and reclaimed Winterfell.

This was a bit iut of character, weird.

Because nothing says romance like a guy fucking his own aunt.

If that's the case why doesn't he just help them follow the story like he did in earlier seasons? The show would still be epic then most likely.

I'm just speculating. D&D are supposedly done with the S8 script and Nikolaj Coster Waldau said they start filming in October this year so I suppose whatever rubbish D&D has written is what viewers will get in S8 even if tWoW comes out before S8 airing.

But then GRRM will probably hold off on publishing till dumb and dumber release their shitfest. I seriously think GRRM is refusing to complete tWoW so that these morons don't get additional material to own and take credit for.

At this point I wouldn't expect Winds from him in 2018 regardless of what the show does.  He just doesn't have it in him to finish this series, I think.  Creatively spent.

Edit; meant "Wouldn't" expect Winds in 2018, not would.

Theon won a fight because he has no balls.

The show has estabilished that after you kill someone you get the right to rule/command therefore the scene was OK.

Is Bran going to repeat some random dialogues in the past to prove things everytime?

I really don't get the Theon having no balls, I've seen interesting juvenile outlines that allude to such, but I thought it was just the pillar, not the stones that Theon lost?  Or at least, that's the way Missy and Dany would discuss it if it was the Unsullied.  Granted, Missy did forget all she knew about the Unsullied, but that's another story.  Back to Theon, even with them not making sperm, they are still there, and those kicks would hurt.

Nothing was surprising... LF died, thank god. I would have liked to see how the Stark children got their collective shit together, but whatever, its over. Thank god.

Cersei was stupid evil, of course. Tyrion was useless, which is pretty much par for course since he killed Tywin. Bits of banter here and there were good. What is Varys doing? I miss the spider.

The Theon Jon scene felt like it was purely meant for us to bask in Jon Snow's moral superiority. Ugh.

At least there was some politicking, which was a welcome return. You know, up until the point Cersei just be like "bwahahaha, I'm evil lol"

Yeah the morons don't remember what they wrote an episode ago in  the same season let alone 6 seasons ago. I don't know whether it's stupidity on their part or it's that they are so bored and just want to move on.

Hell, Jin even mentions Rickard and Brandon being murdered in this very season. How does Preston Jacobs put it? "Its not like season 1/this season/five minutes ago matters."

Also, no way the North only has 1 million people. Even in the show canon. Maybe after a winter has come and gone, but when winter hasn't fully set in, and they're coming off the longest summer in living memory? Nope

Agreed.  This annoyed me as well.  Although we as the viewer understand that Littlefinger deserves to die, it didn't seem a particularly honorable way for the Starks to carry out a "trial" and execution.  The whole Winterfell plot was just completely awful.  I'm talking season 5 and 6 Dorne level awful.

I don't know if I can stand another season with Cersei in it.  I don't understand what the point of this character is.  Next season, she will be like the season 7 Littlefinger.  She'll just be hanging around with nothing to do and then will die.

Can somebody explain to me what exactly the Night King's dragon was firing at the wall?

I just don't share your disgust over the incest aspect of it.  I've had like 6 years of expecting it to happen to get used to it.

George has permanently altered my morals I guess, at least when it comes to this story.  Breaking Bad made me root for Walter White, even when he was objectively being a piece of shit.  George got me rooting for incest because I love Jon and Dany so much.  That's just where I'm at
