Westeros Football Keeper League

Anyone interested in a last minute league?

I think I mentioned it last year.  It would be a keeper league.  Basically it's a snake draft and depending on when you drafted the person is where they would be a keeper next year.

Round 1-2 - 1st round keeper
Round 3-4 - 2nd round keeper
Round 5 - 3rd round keeper
Round 6 - 4th round keeper
Round 7 - 5th round keeper
Round 8 - 6th round keeper
Round 9 - 7th round keeper
Round 10 and beyond  - subtract 3 rounds for the round it would be a keeper (10 is 7th, 11 is 8th), etc.

FAs can be kept as a 6th round keeper.  If you have 2 for the same round you can keep both, but one becomes the higher round keeper.  SO if you want to keep your 8th and a FA then one is going to be a 5th round keeper.

If you want to join, let me know and when you can draft.  It would have to be after 9:30 pm eastern for me on most nights.

I would be interested - I could only draft on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week though. No worries if you need to draft at another time to get the most folks on board.

Tuesday/Wednesday works for me. Best for me would be after 6:00pm CST.

I can't do it until after 9:30 pm Eastern on Tuesday.  Maybe 9pm on Wednesday.  And if Bronn is in he is on the west coast so we need it late enough for him to be on.

Created the league - here is the link if anyone wants to join.  Just remember this is going to be a keeper league so hopefully it's a multi-year commitment.   Sent invites to all the leagues I am in.  Draft is Wesdnesday at 9:30pm eastern right now.

I will edit league settings later too, but this will be like all of our other 2 QB leagues unless there are objections.

we have 8 people right now and Bronn is joining so that is 9.  Need 1 more.

A couple of questions:

1) Rosters - I followed Dynasty - 2QB, 4 WR, 3 RB, TE, K, Def, 10 Bench.  Do we want more TE, K or Def like Experts?  Do we want a flex like Thunderdome?  I am leaning towards just keeping it as i set it up but want some opinions

2) Since it is a keeper, I put in 2 IR spots so if someone is injured you can stash them on IR and maybe keep them for the future (just need people to remember that come draft time).  Any objections?  Should we make it 1 IR spot?

3) I made a FAAB instead of straight waivers.  I like it better.  Is that OK?

That was fun. My first draft this year.  Got some real good keepers I think.  Normally I go big on QBs in our 2 QB leagues, but obviously did not do that here.  Decided to go for 2 on IR rather than a Kicker or Defense.  Forgot about Edelman during the draft.  Meredith and Edelman were my 2 targets pre-draft for that

QB: Newton, Taylor (Bradford)
RB: Gordon, Crowell, Miller (Rob Kelley, Peterson, Lacy, D. Foreman, D. Pumphrey)
WR: Evans, Cooper, Watkins, Maclin (Montcrief, Perriman, Hurns, Ellington)
TE: Walker
K: ?
Def: ?
IR: Cam Meredith, Spencer Ware

My team is meant for the Pence Presidency Era, not the Trump, I fear.  The number in brackets is the keeper round for next year.

Harlaw Harlaws
1.     (4)     Julio Jones (Atl - WR) [1]
2.     (17)     Jay Ajayi (Mia - RB) [1]
3.     (24)     Matt Ryan (Atl - QB) [2]
4.     (37)     Ben Roethlisberger (Pit - QB) [2]
5.     (44)     Davante Adams (GB - WR) [3]
6.     (57)     Derrick Henry (Ten - RB) [4]
7.     (64)     Mike Gillislee (NE - RB) [5]
8.     (77)     Frank Gore (Ind - RB) [6,as if]
9.     (84)     Jarvis Landry (Mia - WR) [7]
10.     (97)     Alvin Kamara (NO - RB) [7]
11.     (104)     Stephen Gostkowski (NE - K) [8]
12.     (117)     Willie Snead (NO - WR) [9 ]
13.     (124)     John Ross (Cin - WR) [ 10]
14.     (137)     Zay Jones (Buf - WR) [11 ]
15.     (144)     James Conner (Pit - RB) [12]
16.     (157)     Ryan Tannehill (Mia - QB) [ 13]
17.     (164)     Mitchell Trubisky (Chi - QB) [14]
18.     (177)     Blake Bortles (Jax - QB) [15]
19.     (184)     Julian Edelman (NE - WR) [16]
20.     (197)     Will Fuller V (Hou - WR) [17]
21.     (204)     Marquise Goodwin (SF - WR) [18]
22.     (217)     Jimmy Garoppolo (NE - QB) [19]

It ends up yielding the following shallow roster this year.

QB: Roethlisberger, Ryan (Bortles, Trubisky, Garoppolo)
RB: Ajayi, Henry, Gillislee (Gore, Kamara, Conner)
WR: Julio, D. Adams, Landry, Snead (Ross, Z. Jones, Fuller, Goodwin)
