Let's discuss dragon shit

Recommended Posts

There was a Dragon Magazine that listed some of the articles they'd passed on, and one of them was the ecology of fewmets,* which presumably would have told us whether green dragon shit is poisonous and black dragon shit is acidic and so on.** Sadly, we will never know. I'm guessing that good dragon shit is good for growing crops, as long as you're careful not to, e.g., put fiery gold dragon shit on cold-weather crops, but evil dragon shit is only good for growing evil crops like violet fungus.

* In real early modern English, "fewmet" means the droppings of any prey that you're tracking. But Gary Gygax apparently didn't know that, and also mixed up the Questing Beast and the Great Dragon from two different Arthurian books (White was really into the Questing Beast's fewmets), so in AD&D, it means dragon shit.

** Not that GRRM is bound to the rules of AD&D. Otherwise, Arya wouldn't have gotten an extra hit die when dual-classing to assassin.
