Job offers are like buses. Wait several depressing months for one then four come at once.

:)

Yay! Congratulations! :commie:

It snowes here too yesterday evening and till today morning. There is not much left by now. I just talked today morning to some coworkers about how it is time for spring maybe.

Yay! The wait is probably worth it so you can pick the best offer, instead of getting them one at a time and feeling obliged to take whatever comes first because you don't know if there'll be another one or not.

I’m glad you’re feeling better :), we were going to go for a walk today but decided it’s too cold so I went to the gym for a bit.

Baby Sith was very unsettled on Friday so I didn’t get much sleep and yesterday wasn’t that good but last night she slept well and so did I so I’m feeling much better today, not quite destroying stars yet but managing to force choke some soft toys :P.

I started doing squats too! (And some other beach booty exercises) So very proud of myself. And I’ll try to incorporate 10K walks into my weekends. I know I know, the brave and the strong and the cool run, but I don’t. Running sucks.

Yay! Like mother like daughter. Hope she continues to be in a brilliant mood and never stops force choking toys.

We had snowfall in the morning Too. It’s gone now and it’ll be back to rain during the week.

I must say this was probably the worst day at work in 2018 so far. Drowning my emotions into a doughnut right now.

@HelenaExMachina CONGRATS ON THE JOB OFFERS! :commie: (just make sure to cut a good deal, don’t agree to anything that doesn’t involve a straight work arrangement)

I did crunches, pull ups, some dumbells and an hours run yesterday, today I did some rowing, good on you for getting some exercise in, it makes you feel great after a while, so you actually look forward to doing it.

Baby Sith was well behaved again today, well reasonably anyway, I hope she can progress from force choking toys to using force lightning on them by the time she's a toddler :D.

Also yay for Helena again :commie:.

Thanks all :) I actually got my first offer two weeks ago today (time flies!) And they have been trickling in since then.

Well sort of. I weighed up the pros and cons, though about finances and living arrangements etc and have more or less decided which if my current offers to go for.

However, I also got invited to a final interview with a law firm I'm keen to work for so I'm going to go for that before I make a final decision.

Its all a-go!

Baby Sith sounds like she is growing into a wonderful and powerful little lady. I hope she has dragon toys and decor in the targaryen colours

Well Annihilation could have been a really great movie if only...

Spoiler

...it could pick a genre. Trying to be three at the same time, it was bound to trip over its own feet. I’m not saying I wish I had watched something Disney, but I also don’t feel like it reached up to the hype.

The characters were rather one dimensional and heck there would have been plenty of time to build them. That combined with their quick demise, I can’t even be happy that Gina Rodriguez was in this, because I mean... her part was like one page in MS Word?

No conclusion in the sci-fi department, no conclusion in the human drama department. Also, it’s awfully convenient that this thing just happened to be burnable with all the genetic mutilations and reflection and weirdness.

Reviews rated it either 9-10 or 1-2... I’m kind around the 5-6ish mark. What a weirdass movie.

Are the other jobs law related too?, I’d probably go with whichever is likely to put you through your training contract as I remember you didn’t want to self fund without a placement at the end, which is understandable.

You’ve reminded me, she needs a little toy dragon!, most babies get bears and ponies, but not her, only a dragon will do(although she seems very fond of a little zebra at the moment)

Of course she will have the Targaryen colours soon, as they’re also the Sith colours too :D.

No, some are various grad schemes that I applied for thinking that I needed some professional experience to pad out my eventual application for a law firm (due to my lack of success until then). They are all positions that interest me and that I would be happy to do, but I don't see myself staying in any of the companies/sectors long term. I suspect I would finish up the grad scheme (the one I'm going for if I don't get the law firm is 2 years) then try again for training contracts, but this time I'd be bringing what I'd got out of the grad scheme too.

The job in the law firm isn't a training contract though, as it happens. Its a paralegal position...however, I have had lots of discussions with them already, and it would be a pretty senior position, they'd be happy to help me progress my career with then provided I showed commitment, dedication etc. And as one of the current partners started as a paralegal anyway... :dunno: I guess I don't won't to tie myself down with a specific career path and everything they've said so far has seemed very appealing to me. Just one final hurdle to go. The hardest part :P

Baby Sith has great taste ;) I was almost a dragon princess when I was little... dinosaurs were my thing. I was obsessed. Dinosaur wallpaper, little palstic dinosaur toys, dinosaur teddy bears, dinosaur bedding, dinosaur documentaries (well they weren't documentaries... I think they were a BBC series or something called Walking with Dinosaurs) and films (Disney's Dinosaur - I got blisters on my blisters, you don't wanna know where I got blisters!") and cartoons and books. Yes I was always an odd child :P

She shall rise to become supreme ruler of us all. I shall await her triumphant rise eagerly...

What exactly is a paralegal? I never quite grasped what Paula’s job was. A person who prepares documents for the busy bee lawyers when they go to court?

There's no one description of exactly what a paralegal is/does, as it will vary depending on each particular law firm, what area of law they are working in, their seniority/experience etc. Basically though, they are not fully qualified lawyers (hence Paula going to Law School. Here in the UK, it means I won't have done my LPC and Training contract) and carry out various legal activities in preparation for a case as directed by the lawyer leading the case - interview this client, prepare this legal document, contact the Defendant etc. However, sometimes a paralegal will have their own case load which they will handle from start to finish - this would include the job I am going for, which deals in part with non-contentious issues a lot of the process is negotiation rather than appearing in court.

I don’t know what the best advice to give is, I guess go with which one you want the most long term, even if it might mean less money or benefits in the short term, either way I’m really happy for you :).

I was less fond of dragons when little, I liked ponies and hop hops(still like hop hops :P)

I was musical from an early age, I wouldn’t say I was odd, just a bit shy and really interested in music.

They essentially perform some of a Lawyers duties which don’t require you to be a qualified Lawyer, it’s a very good way to get experience in a law firm and then qualify.

What area of Law does the firm you’ve applied to specialise in?, hopefully it’s one you’d find interesting otherwise you’re likely to hate your job :P.

Ah, I See, that sounds like an interesting job. Good luck with the positions! Have you picked one yet? Accepted any of the offers?

12 € for shipping costs when I try to order something through amazon? What the hell.

Now I know why I never order things online. Ridiculous.

Apparently this is now the thread for me to complain about stuff.

At least it is sunny today.

And today's lesson has been cancelled. The one at home of the students, individual lesson. Their father seems to think I am at their disposal at all times and wants the lesson at another time (they are always either cancelling or shortening their lessons or want to change the schedule), but I don't have time at that slot.

So I guess I have time today afternoon to do any of the 597360649736 other things waiting for me. Blah.

I want the supernatural entity. :(

Sure! I mean, I don't know when that will be, because everybody seems to be busy doing real life stuff right now, but I will try to remember. :) Hope all is fine with you.

@Buckwheat sorry about the lessons, people who think they own your time are annoying. Constant rescheduling is stressful. Hope you get to rest at the weekend.

As for online shopping, inland online stores are usually much more sensible with their shipping fares, inland shipping is usually around €3 here, and almost always free when you spend over €30-40. Amazon is quite over the top indeed though by far not the worst. I’m having package delviered from Australia. The shipping cost about as much as the item itself. And let’s not even mention the wait. Not sure what you need, but eBay is great for bits and bobs, shipping is often free.

Got my hair cut!!!! It feels so amazing!

Thanks. Maybe somebody else can do it at the time they want.

Well, the thing is, if I wanted something from inside this country, I would just go ahead and buy it in a physical store and not think at all about online shopping. :P I wanted to order some DVDs. I tried with the supernatural entity's adress too, but the shipping did not cost any lower there either.

A family member also wanted to order some books, but amazon said that shipping would cost 33 € for the one book that was in stock, which was just ... we didn't order it. I read up on the shipping costs, and none of the costs amazon listed matched with what it said we must pay during the payment process. Just weird and evil.

How long is your hair? I always feel weird after a haircut, because there is stuff missing when there should be hair.
