Um, does Cadet Bone Spurs know what Bastille Day is all about, because that was the start of this little kerfuffle that happened in France a bit ago. Does he understand that? A military 'parade' as seen in most of the world is wholly unAmerican. The best part about the Vets day parade is that you get a bunch of old dudes and some late-forties ladies now throw on whatever piece of the uniform they liked best and go strut. It's awesome, uniquely American. With all due consideration to the tens of million murdered and displaced by the European immigrant Americans, it takes a certain level of "I just don't give a fuck" to dominate a continent as thoroughly as Americans did. The ability to set a date, presumably hold registrations weeks in advance, for an event and still have everyone involved seem like they just wandered by is the true American spirit.
