James Steller Posted February 12, 2018 Share Posted February 12, 2018 If Quellon was a royalist, he would have raided the Riverlands, maybe even invaded the North, which would have caused Eddard to turn back and defend his home from the raiders. Tywin didn't choose a side until after the Trident, much like the IB. Attacking the RL would have been the only real option. Ned, Robert, and Jon by his own actions were all fighting for their lives.
