Mark Antony
Was waiting over a day for someone with a more creative mind than me to make a new thread Things get even worse for Lacazette as he’s out for 4-6 weeks after minor knee surgery. Poor guy. Now Arsenal are stuck with just Welbeck at striker for Europa Hazard was brilliant yesterday. Thought this analysis by Henry on Firmino was excellent. Saying he wished he could have played with him is such high praise Didn’t realize Firmino lifted that back heel over the defenders leg. https://streamable.com/pzncn Excited for Spurs/Juve
ljkeane
So, from what I can see pretty much every football pundit on the face of the planet is predicting Liverpool will progress to the next round of the Champions League. Which, of course, means we're definitely getting knocked out by Porto.
Consigliere
Terrible start for Spurs. It's a long way back now given how strong Juve are defensively.
Mark Antony
This is a super entertaining game so far. Wasn’t expecting all the clear chances for both sides. Spurs responded well after going down 2-0. Kane could have had a couple more other than the one he got.
Consigliere
Spurs have come back very well. They have Juve hemmed in and look the most likely to get the next goal. ETA. big let off for Spurs. Their defending has been really poor.
Daemon the Leaner
Sweet Jesus, what a half. Hard to tell who's going to win this tie. Spurs have played total football so far. Eriksen's been brilliant. Aurier isn't casting a good light on himself though.
Consigliere
Spurs have bossed Juve since going two down.
Jordan La Cabra
Great performance from Tottenham. To bounce back the way they did after going two goals down away to such a big team shows character I didn’t think this Spurs side had. This tie is wide open going into the second leg. Daemon the Leaner
Meanwhile in Switzerland, Man City has done so well that they are going to pay themselves the luxury of playing their B team on the 2nd leg lol. Not so much of a surprise anyway. PS: if there has ever been a player I want in my club, that's Moussa Dembélé. Okay, Eriksen too.
Consigliere
I'd say Spurs are slight favourites now. Dybala should be fit for the 2nd leg though. Allegri may need to switch to a midfield three because Juve's midfield was completely overrun.

Okay, Eriksen too. Mourinho will probably play Dembele as a second DM like he does at times with Pogba and Eriksen will be an auxiliary fullback. Iskaral Pust
Tough situation for Liverpool tonight. We're heavily favored against a team that's hard to evaluate. They're in great form in their weak domestic league, they have powerful forwards who are plundering tons of goals on counter-attacks, they've had far fewer games than Liverpool during the CL break, and their progression to the knock-out stages was due to beating Monaco twice (8-2 in aggregate) -- but Monaco were very weak at that point before finding their feet in their domestic league. I hope our high press can unsettle them and carry the day, but we need to maintain some discipline to not get sucker-punched.
ljkeane
So, er, Porto look half decent. Which isn't ideal.
ljkeane
Away goal for Liverpool! Bit of a gift from the keeper but Mane really should have squared it for a tap in for Wijnaldum seconds earlier.
ljkeane
Heh, Salah just calmly takes 3 touches and goes round the goalie before scoring on the rebound. It's really not that difficult this football thing is it? Mane's not anywhere near his best but that's his 10th goal to go with 6 assists in the league and Champions League which really isn't a bad contribution by any means. Consigliere
Game (and tie) over for Porto. Their only hope was to win by at least two goals at home because their away record is terrible. Real v. PSG is a quality game.
Mark Antony
Porto are so sloppy in their own half. Milner has been more than decent in midfield his last two starts.

Iskaral Pust
A bit fortunate for Mane (bad decision not to pass) but hopefully it will lift his confidence and let him return to playing instinctively. And 11 goals, 6 assists by Mane in PL & CL is just slightly ahead of Martial and Eriksen, and well ahead of Alexis, Pogba, Alli, Son, Rashford, Lingard, Willian, Pedro, Ozil, and Lacazette. Not bad for a player struggling for form and missing games earlier through suspension and then injury. (He scored his second as I was typing).
