It won't be Mueller who will bring Trump down, but some kid with pink hair from Canada.

Ain't life grand?   (OK, Mueller too)

:P

I see Trump end in Stormy weather. Though I am bias in that it is the end the country most deserve.

Pink hair Canadian will be tolerable.

I see people keep hinting at this. Can someone walk me through the actual mechanisms of how an affair with a porn actress 12 years ago is going to end a presidency that hasn't been ended by widespread corruption and attacks on every American institution and ideal?

It ain't the affair, it's the cover up.  The 130K lame payoff, the threats to her and who knows what she has to tell.  I was watching Tweetie last night and he said that Trump doesn't talk about Putin or Stormy, and Tweetie said he thinks it because with both he has something to hide.  Hmmmm, interesting insight, and it  may be more than sexual peccadillos.  So Stormy, what's he hiding?

It is whether the payment Cohen made was a violation of campagin finance laws and is actually quite boring except it dealt with a Porn Star.

I do not know if it will end Trump Presidency. I just see it as the most appropriate end.

There are serious laws broken using campaign funds for a payoff and hiding the funds. The Porn Star is just the appropriate tawdry sizzle.

Those interested in the salacious elements I found Michael Che gave the appropiate warning.

Look guys, this Storym business won’t end Trump, not even if he personally bribed her, blackmailed her and threated her physical safety. He’s already done worse things, and we know that the accumulation of terrible events isn’t going to force Congressional Republicans to act, not even if they are in the minority in both chambers. He owns them.

I’m going all in on a heart attack causing Trump to leave office before his term (or second term) ends. Dude is massively overweight, doesn’t believe in exercise (he actually thinks it causes you to die sooner), eats like **** and is stressed to the nines. IDK how his heart doesn’t explode at some point worse than Teddy Bridgewater’s knee.

As for redistricting:

I think other states should look into Iowa's system. It doesn't get listed as an "independent commission" because the nonpartisan agency that does the redistricting has others duties involving legal and fiscal analysis of legislation, and because the legislature can veto the first plan they come up with and make them do it over again. But it seems to do a great job of not having very gerrymandered districts. The partisan makeup of Iowa's state legislature after the 2016 election was 41 Democrats and 59 Republicans in the House, and 20 Democrats, 29 Republicans, and 1 Independent in the Senate. Clinton had 41.7% of the vote, Trump 51.2%, and Johnson and McMullin combined 4.6%, so that seems like a reasonable reflection of statewide partisan leanings to me.

An explanation of Iowa's system:

He claims not to believe in "exercise", but that's because he doesn't define golf as "exercise", and even if he uses a golf cart most of the time, all the swinging of golf clubs he must do is a lot more exercise than many American men his age get. Plus "massively" overweight is a great exaggeration --"massively" to me would be a morbidly obese person, and he is nowhere near that fat. His hostile personality is a definite risk factor for heart disease, but that is balanced by his being a nonsmoker. So I would guess that his chance for a heart attack the next seven years is close to the average risk for an American man his age.

Currently the local public radio station is running a long, live, with audience special on the Cambridge Analytica and Steve Bannon and FaceBook exposé,  The NY Times leads with a story about FB's chief security office quitting FB having wanted a lot more transparency concerning Russia and how nation states "misuse" FB's platform for fake news, etc.
