Thanks for the great report, MG!
I have a good memory, though clearly it is not infalliable. I will make corrections and alterations this evening. If anybody else spots a mistake or there is something which should have been included then please point it out either in thread or PM. Thank you.
The only mistake that I noticed was that you picked up my own error of placing the death of Terry Goodkind in Montreal in 2009. Kat posted a correction that she really set the scene in Reno in 2010.

I guess we were either too eager to kill him off sooner, or else reluctant to lend credence to the possibility that 2010 won't be in Seattle. :)

That in itself is a mistake then since 2010 is being held in Melbourne, Australia :P

ETA: I think I will leave it as it is, since it is quite an irrelevant detail really (plus I prefer Seattle for 2011, sorry Kat) - besides lets be rid of Tairy sooner rather than later please!
I am STILL not back onto a normal schedule. Going to bed early and getting up late. I haven't been able to eat much food, either. I couldn't even finish a single roll of sushi yesterday for lunch. I wonder if I can market this as the Sci-Fi Diet?
I'm having similar problems - I thought it was some lurgy picked up on the plane. At least I have another two days to recover.

Well, it won't. It'll be in Melbourne :P. 2011 will be in Seattle ;)

Just checking in to say I'm back in London but too sleepy to be in fit state to do anything yet. Will try and get my small collection of photos uploaded tomorrow evening when I get back home, and will try and do a little convention report in the days following.
Has anyone posted a more detailed summary of the third Dunk&Egg story? I only found the short one on page four, am I missing something? I'm excited. :)
There's a more comprehensive summary in MG's World con report (doc-format) upthread.

Well, thanks all again for your kindness and care, but it takes more than a few microbes to bring me done. And I'm prticullrly stubborn so there was no way I would let some bloody bacterias ruin my fun !!! :tantrum:
I'm going to call that Mission Accomplished
Actually I laughed and laughed and laughed a lot. Thanks for all the kind words and the good laugh, though I could have done without the accompanying cough but since he's safely home and I've now met him I'll blame Pod for that ;) :P

And BTW you'll all be glad that I had a completely eventless flight home, we were even 20 minuts early in Paris and I'm currently waiting for Mommy to come back from her vacations at her place cause she's not only momommy she's also my doctor. Took a 4 hours nap and now heading to take a bath :hat:

Kat-- I could be persuaded to go for a Geology of Western Navada tour... if you had a sharp stick or something. LOL Naw, seriously. I have learned not to knock things I don't understand. Sometimes the things I thought would be the most boring are actually pretty damn cool... so sign me up :)

And yes, you would be able to store a torso for a year. It's called a "freezer." In your case, better make it a deep freeze though. You don't want any part of leakage on that one ;)

I meant to post sooner. But you know how things go. My post count is lower than I thought... it happens. I will try to post a little more often.

I had planned to post yesterday, but I stopped by work to check email and found out that I didn't get the promotion that I applied for, so I spent yesterday overcoming my disappointment and frustration. I am feelling better now.

This was my first worldcon. Quite interesting. I learned a couple of lessons. Never plan to host 6 parties over the course of 4 nights, make sure you have a lot of help, and never leave a dodo puppet unattended.

My total driving trip was just under 4200 miles. A few good books on tape really helped. Off Arrmeggedon's Reef by David Weber was good. The Neil Gaimon, not too good. The Classic Ender's Game was a nice way to finish the trip.

I made three panels, bought one really awesome tshirt for use at Ravencon next year, and spent way too much money. I missed the guy fondling himself, but heard the full on gay and bisexual costumers let loose late night a couple times. The Zerps and Seattle groups were very helpful and threw some fun parties.

On a side note, My first night's party, 1984 A Brave New Worldcon, was the last one running on Wednesday night. Sarah and I felt one night being the last running was enough...

I had some really nice chats with a few BWB Saturday night. Sarah got over it, and I had a ride home. I hope the chocolate muffins were enjoyed Sunday morning.

We went to Crazy Horse and Mt Rushmore Monday. Interesting stops. The museum collection at Crazy Horse was interesting, note there is a $20 entry fee at CH and $10 parking fee at MR.

We stopped in Wisconsin Tuesday and saw the broken levy in Lake Delton. Chicago on Thursday, walked around the parks, then found some 1960's formula Schlitz in a bottle, which was atually pretty good.

If I go to Anticipation... no party hosting...

Friday night’s party was a lot of fun, of course.

Supper consisted of delivered pizza, which was at eight pm. The festivities commenced right at nine, and went straight on through until five thirty am the next morning, as mentioned by X-Ray’s post.

It went well, although the supplies were used up to a far greater extent than anyone had anticipated.

As has also been mentioned, Tyco was sent for more beer, met Dracarys on the way, and the two of them procured the beer. However, due to the rules and regulations of the hotel, they couldn’t carry alcohol blatantly through the hotel. They were forced to wait until Stego was able to borrow some boxes and plastic containers from one of the other parties, which I brought down to them. Then we got to wait in line until an elevator opened up for us. Joy and rapture.

At one point later in the morning I escorted Lacy back to her hotel as the city was perhaps not the safest at two am.

Much to my body’s consternation, I was only able to get maybe four hours of sleep in between the time that Regina and I went to bed and the time that we ended getting up. Thank God I only do this to myself about two times a year; I am getting too old to do it any more frequently than that.

Regina and I ended up going out to breakfast with Sean and Natalie, which consisted of chocolate, sugar, pastries, more sugar, and other items which really are found more often in desserts than in a proper breakfast, per se.

Afterwards, we ended up going to the Dealers Room for the final time. We ended up decided against getting any of the aforementioned artist’s work. Regina’s logical argument was that if there was any single thing that would have been the deciding factor or work of art, it would have leaped out at us, as opposed to our having to discuss it. Fair enough.

I then proceeded to have the most luck in a convention’s dealer room than I have in any other previously. I ended up buying a collection of short stories about the Apocalypse from Night Shade Press called Wastelands. Then I lucked out and found a dealer who was selling omnibus books of the Black Company, by Glen Cook. Each book had three previously published books in them, and I bought both of them. There are more stories about the Black Company than just six, but I have to start somewhere.

The really cool part was that after I had purchased both of them, the dealer asked if I wanted him to sign them. I looked at his name tag, and it turned out that the dealer WAS Glen Cook, and he was the one running the table. Surprised but thrilled, I of course said yes, and was thrilled when he did. He asked if I wanted to have them personalized in any way; I have never cared about that, and was just happy to have him sign them. I thought that that was a very nice thing for him to do, actually.

When we got back to the room, Mr. and Mrs. X were getting ready to go out again, having gone, I think, to a Wild Cards panel, which was apparently pretty neat. They made plans to go out with the car and pick up the necessary supplies to replenish what we had run out of the night before.

Regina and I proceeded to pack our things in preparation to having to our plane leave at the unholy hour of seven am mountain time the next morning, and then proceeded to try to nap again. I actually managed to get an hour’s sleep, which was two less than I was hoping for, but, oh well.

X-Ray and Mr. X borrowed our assistance in getting the new supplies up to the room, and then a bunch of us arranged to go for supper at a nice restaurant just around the corner.

I thought that Saturday’s party was quieter than the night before; at least for the length of time that I was able to stay. Much to my frustration, my fatigue ended up kicking in, and rather than push my luck, I decided that it was in the best interest of my health that I call it an earlier night than I had intended.

I made my all-too-hasty good-byes, and escorted Lacy back to our hotel again. I actually did get between two and three hours of sleep, this time.

Regina woke me at four when she returned, and after gathering up our things, we amscrayed.

Our horrific journey home has already been posted about.

I could go on in great length discussing the various conversations and points of interest that came up, but then I would never be able to end this.

Suffice it to say that I enjoyed talking with everyone immensely and that I regret not having had significantly more time to spend with each of you. If you were a n00b, I hope that you had fun and will come again; if you are old-school, then I hope it will not be long before I do see you again.

Hey Arlington Bill -- glad you made it home safe and sound, and Sarah didn't bury your corpse in a shallow grave somewhere in the Badlands. ;) The chocolate muffins did not last long -- talk about horde of locusts. I'm very sorry to hear about the whole promotion thing. *fingers crossed* that something good (new job, newly found sense of vengeance) will come out of it.

I'm working on keeping my mouth shut until I can speak without flaming them. But I have had a few good vengence dreams...I just need to make sure my work doesn't suffer while I am working things out.

Good to see reports still arriving. :)

(Myself I just got back home a couple of hours ago but am too tired to write anything today. Need to catch up on some sleep before I can be coherent)

Back at work today.

Still bloody tired. Sleep pattern is way out of control. Told several people at work to enjoy themselves and had a little snigger to myself. I'm supposed to go back to a 4 hour lecture tonight but I don't know if I will make it - I'll probably sleep through most of it if I do.

Ok so pardon my ignorance but Stubby and MJS... what are the differences in your titles and/or how are they related? Knight of the Tomato Pie and Knight of the mile high tomato pie? There's bound to be good stories here.
