My first post here!
Here are some suggestions:

- Robert Knepper as Littlefinger (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0460694)
- Alex Pettyfer as Joffrey (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1641117/)
- Ben Barnes as Jon Snow (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1602660/)
Finally. A Jon Snow I can agree on.
Out of all the actors suggested so far, Ben Barnes bears the closest resemblance to the Jon in my mind...now that they're aging up the characters, that is.
Oh, and a haircut for closer resemblance.

I have to agree, Mads Mikkelsen would make a great choice for Ned. Might be interesting to give all of the Northmen Scandinavian accents if one goes that route (of course Catelyn wouldn't need one, having come from the Riverlands). But it might serve to reinforce the differences between the northmen and the southerners. I could see Sansa maybe not having an accent because she's been so well trained in Southern ways and her desire to live in a southern court.

I don't know if he's the right "coloring" but Jamie Bell for Jon Stark! Yes...the kid from "Billy Elliot." I really like this kid as an actor, and he does bring along a bit of name recognition with him. I think he could really do well with Jon. And he's played broody outsider with Mommy issues many times before. :P
Also, how about Connie Nielsen for Cat Stark? She is a great actress. Connie Nielsen
100% agree here. I was just about to suggest it but i thought i would look first.

Someone mentioned Ridley Scott in another thread which made me think of Gladiator and then her, excellent queen/matriarch character in that movie.

I could see Stephen Tompkinson as Ned Stark. He is a star on BBC and has lot´s of chops and he has the Frozen face

Blimey, I haven't been to this board for ages!

Okay, bearing in mind it's probably going to be shot in the UK (yay! Can I be an extra?), I've tried to think of British actors who aren't huge stars:

Ned - Jack Davenport

Catelyn - either Laura Fraser or Emilia Fox.

Jon Snow - either Matt Smith or James Sutton
How about Freddie Highmore as Bran?

Edit: On further examination, maybe not, as he's actually 16. Joffrey, maybe?
He actually looks quite young. Depending on how they're going to age up the characters he may be able to pull off Bran.

Ah, Ned. Where have you been? I haven't seen you in a while.

Davenport looks like what I imagined Ned looked like.

That's the trouble with Movies, they usually don't measure up to our imagination.
I was going to suggest luring Hugh Jackman to do a seaon of HBO to portray Ned, but Mads Mikkelsen is too perfect. He has that hard look about him that screams north man. You'd think he was Danish or something. ;)

I also like that he isn't a "star", so it'll be easier to see Ned on the screen and not Actor X.

If they need to bring in a "named actor" then I'll add to the Sean Bean chorus.
His Danish blood is one of the reasons why I suggested him. Along with being a great actor, Mikkelsen is a northman, and has that Stark quality about him. I think he'd nail that role.

I think those are old pictures. He's gone through puberty by now. But Highmore would have been a really ideal Bran, back in his "Finding Neverland" days.

Ok, after seeing some of the postings for Jon Snow (some of 'em were alright) but some of the choices I found a bit too puny and some of the actors are just too busy with their film or television careers.

I gotta throw Avery Clark into the ring. Valyrian-Steel and Silmarilli can see it - so why not? Avery may be too old but Jon is the oldest of the Stark kids.

And bonus if Felicia Day is in the running for Ygritte - their pale skin would look great together.

-any ideas for Hodor?

*Vote Yes on Proposition Avery

Having just seen Perfume, I would love to see Rachel Hurd-Wood as Sansa.

Hi everyone, greetings from Portugal.

After seeing the movie Stage Beauty, in my mind Catelyn looks like Claire Danes
I also think that Billy Crudup would make a very convincing Ned.

I totally agree with the idea of Ben Barnes for Jon Snow.

As to Littlefinger, in my mind he looks just like James McAvoy

I just suggested him for Mance Raydar in another thread, but I think he would make an intriguing Eddard as well.

Here's another pic.

And another.
I love this suggestion - watching Arthur, he was the guy who stood out for me. Sure, there were prettier, sexier, stronger guys in the group - but Mikkelsen had a certain magic about him. Distance in his eyes, shy smile, scruffy appearance that hides an intensity of spirit.
He's Ned for me, :wideeyed:

She was quite the emotional flip-flop on Tell me You Love Me, vaguely remember seeing her on Lost, but can't remember what her role was.
