it should be based on the advice given by experts on macro economics,
If economists agreed on any topic, they know there wouldn't be a need for economic experts anymore. They evolved an eerie instinct to find another economist to disagree with as as long as it's for the good of their own employment. What you're saying is that action should be based on the advice given by experts on macro ecomonics that happen to agree with the politician's own idealogy?

 indeed.
It's what Bush has done and what Obama is doing.

You could mean that leaders should follow the advice that would benefit the majority but, yeah, that ain't gonna happen. People are so dumb that some continue to call any action that would favor the majority "socialism", regardless of the word's definition; I think what they mean is "populism" but it's a kneejerk reaction for these people as "socialism" is evil and they don't want to be evil. You could also mean that leaders should favor the minority class who has money with more money but that's unlikely, right? It's very unrealistic. Some say "leave it alone, it will correct itself" but aren't they the same people who said "Leave the market alone, it will regulate itself"?

How about "Damn the expense and spend"? It worked in Depression Era America. Unless your idealogical expert of choice tells you that it didn't.

Are there any experts on experts? After almost 70 years, the Wolf is back at the door and no one can agree on a course of action due to 30 years of bipartisan rancor. The only thing I can do is sit back and laugh.

unreal
Yeah, sounds like Pelosi is/was trying to match Boehner and Cantor, as far as whipping votes and giving the appearance of unanimous opinion. :/ While I agree leadership on both sides can and do get caught up in the politics at the cost of content, I think Cooper is indulging in hyperbole when he talked about them only caring about the political win.
