Aussies XLVIII

What a fine way to start a new thread:

MALCOLM Turnbull has today described the new Liberal leader Tony Abbott's views on climate change as "bullshit".

Mr Turnbull has vowed to cross the floor and vote with Labor when the legislation is brought back to Parliament next year.

And a song:

I think I hear the sounds of then,

And people talking,

The scenes recalled, by minute movement,

And songs they fall, from the backing tape.

That certain texture,that certain smell,

To lie in sweat, on familiar sheets,

In brick veneer on financed beds.

In a room, of silent hardiflex

That certain texture, that certain smell,

Brings home the heavy days,

Brings home the the night time swell,

Out on the patio weÂ’d sit,

And the humidity weÂ’d breathe,

WeÂ’d watch the lightning crack over canefields

Laugh and think, this is Australia.

The block is awkward - it faces west,

With long diagonals, sloping too.

And in the distance, through the heat haze,

In convoys of silence the cattle graze.

That certain texture, that certain beat,

Brings forth the night time heat.

Out on the patio weÂ’d sit,

And the humidity weÂ’d breathe,

WeÂ’d watch the lightning crack over canefields

Laugh and think that this is Australia.

To lie in sweat, on familiar sheets,

In brick veneer on financed beds.

In a room of silent hardiflex

That certain texture, that certain smell,

Brings forth the heavy days,

Brings forth the night time sweat

Out on the patio weÂ’d sit,

And the humidity weÂ’d breathe,

WeÂ’d watch the lightning crack over canefields

Laugh and think, this is Australia.

This is Australia etc..

Well Abbotts front bench is worse than I thought it would be. Calling back the Howard attack dogs is bad enough but Barnaby to finance?

I guess the libs don't want to win anything...

More balibo confessions. Anyone think it will change anything either here or abroad?

Honestly no I don't.

I would not be surprised if it was known by the government at the time. It doesn't matter really neither government has the will to do anything about this and honestly do you think the public will get up in arms about it?

Does anyone else think that the Vet's around here charge way too much and play on the "Well, you could just take him home without using all this expensive stuff, but he may die," theme.

My three year old Bull Terrier is sick and we took him to the night Vet, $400 later... we still had to take him to the vet today for xrays and ultrasound. They don't want to operate yet, maybe tomorrow after we pay the fee for him staying overnight...

Such fuckers...

This could be the death of the Federal Liberal party as we know it.

My first thought. Are they trying for political oblivion?

There'll be a few hardliners who welcome the change, but they're really asking to give the greens and labour a shitload of votes with this change.

At the very least the Collins class will find this thing - even if it is just by bumping into it.

Guys the Collins class are not as bad as has been made out, heck even the cavitation problems really only show up when using a larger than normal propeller. Look at the shots from the trials and you tell me if thats a normal sub prop.
