Aemon Stark
I would accept the 700 ft magic wall of ice, though. So if you want to go there, I'll support it. Never gets above freezing here, anyway, right?
TrueMetis
Aemon,Nope. Just not wide open as they are today.Hope your willing to spend billions making it less wide. Which will get you a wall that can be cut through with tin snips.
Ser Scot A Ellison
Alguien,No, not at all. Some sort of physical barrier a fence (not electrified) makes sense with better security and more guards manning it is what I imagine. Nothing is going to be 100% secure but it can be a great deal more secure than it is today.I imagine the best argument against this is cost. C S
No it wouldn't. Poor people hardly pay any taxes. And while mass-deporation is maybe nonstarter (and that's debatable) mass self deportation isn't. Just take away the reasons for them to come and they will leave. So high fines for everyone who employs them, take away all welfare (except emergency healthcare), no driving licenses etc.At the risk of being nitpicky, illegal immigrants are not directly eligible for most forms of welfare. Some of them do get benefits intended to assist their U.S. born dependents. Any attempt to stop these benefits is probably going to be in conflict with the 14th Amendment's Equal Protection Clause.
