aimlessgun Posted January 17, 2011 Share Posted January 17, 2011 Sorry aimlessgun (great nick!) but I hated that scene... it was soft-porn and degrading to both participants, reduced to power play. The closest I can think to a self-fulfilling wish by GRRM. But maybe I'm just peeved because Arys seemed an interesting character, he was made a POV for the porn scene (fan service?) and then killed off. Unfair, in my book. Arianne did not come out well either - just a bumbling, whiny schemer who fails at whatever she tries. Well, my criteria for "not weird/disturbing sex scene" was basically "what scene would work best as a softcore porn scene"....But yes I suppose it does have it's own weirdness.
