I've known about this forum for years, after someone put a link to it on a History forum I used to frequent.

I agree that some of the normalcy and bizzare justifications they have for being 'white nationalists', are quite unnerving, but it makes sense if you think about it. On Stormfront, being a nazi is the norm. They're basically normal people except with everything skewed by White Nationalism.

I haven't looked on there for years, but I will admit to lurking on a few of their threads once upon a time, basically due to morbid curiosity. Interestingly, they have a debate forum (or used to) where non-nazis could join and debate their views. A lot of the debates were totally ridiculous though, like 'Should we join forces with the Japanese', plus they seem so firmly stuck in their own world that nothing you can say will really change anything.

I never said it's weird that Neo-Nazis are human beings like us, I just found it kind of creepy and dissonant that they had normal conversations alongside the entire sub-forums dedicated to "Eugenics" and "Taking Back South Africa".

To use a somewhat overworked phrase, it is the banality of evil. Although evil is perhaps not the right descriptor. A lot of people arent defined simply by some irrational or bigoted opinions they hold.

I would say the human mind is quite good at compartmentalizing, and people can be perfctly average and normal in many things while holding some outrageous (outside standard deviation) opinions in others.

That's right. One of my pals at college used to be a hoot-and-a-half, and then out of the blue he would start regaling us with discriminatory opinions. I remember I was quite suprised at first, but after a while we realised it was simply one of his idiosyncrasies.

There was one with a visit to some South African white pride types as well. Who couldn't understand why Louis seemed baffled that they really liked Aretha Franklin.

It's not weird; it's 19th century anthropology. Basically, they're calling PIEs Aryans, which no one does. Aryan as a term is restricted to Indo-Iranians these days. The Kalash, while having "white" phenotype, have been shown to not be any sort of relict white population; they're not genetically European at all. Interestingly, the Pathans and Uighurs both do actually have European affinities, as the crazy link claims, however, it's far less than Middle-East populations, as you can see in the graph.

You're probably right. When you think of it, there's nothing strange about having normal conversations about dating advice and pop music and Japanese cartoons on a Nazi forum. It must be very mentally exhausting to hate, hate, hate all the time.

I think Datepalm and me should form the society of true whites. Stormfront seems a stupid name, afterall stomy weather is OK for true white people, it's hot sunny weather that causes a problem for us, therefore we shall be known as the the factor 50+ society and only those who require factor 50 sun cream or more will be welcome in our society which will be dedicated to our true interests. Such as which is more damgaing to sun protection, salt water or fresh water? How can one maximise ones own vitamin D gain without the risk of sunburn? Now the one thing that really baffles me about these gentlemen is their ravings about "the Jews". I can perfectly well understand and identify with the desire to preserve the glories of the White Race, though I disagree with it.
