Kosciuszko
Lance Berkman has somehow remembered that he is Lance Berkman. The sixth was such a beautiful inning.
Harlot
There's only so many times the bats can over the pitching giving up 5 runs in the 1st. I really can't understand why this seems to be happening across our starting rotation.
gumby
Pads will probably lose 90 games this year. The pitching will remain solid and the hitting no existent. If terrorists had a nuclear weapon and threatened to blow up the world if the Padres didn't score a run with the bases loaded and no one out, we would all be dead. It is kind of absurd to have _such_ a pitcher's park. Having a home park that is either a wicked pitcher's park or hitter's park is generally a negative for the development of a team. It ends up getting into someone's head. I mean, what hitter would want to go play in SD or Seattle? What pitcher really wants to go to Cincinnati or Texas (Philly is an exception here)? Paxter
Well, a month into the season and AL East is starting to look much like it did for long periods last year - with the Yanks and Rays fighting it out for top spot. Still a bit surprised to see the BoSox so low, but they may swap spots with the Rays at some point if they get onto a streak and the TB bullpen goes quiet. I think the Blue Jays could also be a threat this season if they get their pitching right. Offensively they can be pretty scary at times. ETA: The main surprise for me so far this season has been the Twins - their slump from a .580 winning record last season to .346 is a fairly dramatic turnaround. Lightning Lord
The Twins make me a very sad panda. Our piecemeal starting pitching isn't being supported at all by our anemic offense. We' getting absolutely crushed. It's not just a hole in our lineup or rotation, everyone seems to have decided to have career-worst years all at the same time. And this year I'll get to see a game. My first outdoor Twins game in my life. :(

All the Giants who were expected to suck or underperform last year are sucking or underperforming, and everyone else is injured. With DeRosa also injured we have no 3rd baseman and never had a real shortstop. *sigh* FML.

We've got the ghost of Francisco Liriano's talent and Carl Pavano's porn star mustache.

They have, so far, won some games by freak accidents and should be doing much worse than they are. Oh well. I'm sure this is karmic payback for last year in some way.And Zito's been working on a porn star stache too. Luckily(?) he's also on the DL, so I don't have to see it. Lightning Lord
You're marginally lower than us by one of those standards. You've still scored 15 more runs than us with more HR, SB and higher BA/OBP/SLG.You also lack the worst record in the league. :P
AtoningUnifex
Well, I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts (however briefly that may be). Right now, most everybody (I'm looking at you bullpen :D ) is playing out of their shoes. Sizemore looks right, finally. Hafner's hitting when healthy and we have some nice young arms. I liked Alex White's debut the other night, he was understandably skittish and walked four, but the has potential for nice plate control. Not ready to buy into it completely, but life is so much sweeter when the Indians are winning, and good grief, we could use a winner.Go Tribe.Tribe v. Cubs WS 2011! Kosciuszko
Lightning Lord is alive!Sadly, not all news is good. Young solid third baseman David Freese who was hitting .356 just got his hand busted by a pitch, and he's now out 9-12 weeks.

Young solid third baseman David Freese who was hitting .356 just got his hand busted by a pitch, and he's now out 9-12 weeks. :angry:Look on the bright side: his BABIP was an unsustainably high .460. So now you have that much longer to savor the good times instead of the inevitable crashing back down to reality.
