[BOOK SPOILERS] Bronn has been north of the Wall?

OK. Watched the episode again. Tyrion guesses that Bronn killed his first man before 12. Bronn then says that it was an axe-wielding woman. THEN Tyrion guesses that Bronn has been North of the Wall. So it can be reasoned that Tyrion guessed that Bronn had had a foray with Wildings.

Why must it have been a foray beyond the Wall? Perhaps Bronn was Born a wildling or another wildling + Night Watch mix? He grew up beyond the Wall, killed his axe-wielding abusive mother (dammit Bronn I hate you for being a spawn of your Crow father!) at age 12 then fled beyond the Wall.
