History: When Bran the Builder built the wall he gave the gift to the watch, one of the minor lordlings who chose to owe fealty to the watch was house Gasa, who had recently been exiled from the westernlands by the Casterlys because Lord Danel Gasa refused to gift his best horse and maiden daughter to the Casterly king, they were welcomed by Bran and the Nights Watch.

To fortify his hold on the north he gave his maiden daughter to the then Lord Umber, and married Lord Tallhart's daughter, Maege, with whom he had two sons, Martyn, his heir, and Brandon, who joined the Night's Watch and became Lord Commander on his fiftieth year, though he was killed by wildlings three months later.

Martyn married the daughter of Lord Greystark and had seven children, Garen, who died in a hunting accident; Maege, taken by wildlings; Baslos, who fell of drunk and died from the tower from which the castle took its name; Jon, who renounced his claim and joined the Night's Watch, seving under his uncle Brandon, avenging him but doing of frostbite; Anya, who died in childbed along with her child; Damos, who got trampled by his horse during a battle with outlaws; and Ramsay, who became a popular hero due to his luck when gambling, he gained many riches to his house, along with their sword.

Ramsay married a Stark from a cadet branch and had four children: Danel the forsworn who killed his twin brother to secure his claim and was hanged for traitor because he refused to join the Watch; his twin brother Jon; Derenna, who married a Bolton; and Myranda Snow, who he acknowledged before his death as the last of his offspring alive.

The only son of Jon Gasa was passed over by his grandfather because he had taken the black, believing that his uncle Danel would inherit, never knowing he would come to be lord, this drove him a little mad, but then he fell in love a few years after he had been named Lord Commander, and he became the Night's King.

Those are the famous Gasa.

Fifty years before Robert's Rebellion Ramsay Gasa, another one, left Proudtower due to the wildlings, on the road he was ambushed by wildlings, only his infant children, Jon and Alys, survived, though Alys died of a sudden disease, Jon tracked down the wildlings up to the wall, where he crossed with seven of his brave friends, all keen on retrieving Bat Wing, only two returned, Jon and a knight of the name Ser Otto Snow, though they were taken for wildings and shot down by a group of rangers.

Jon's only heir, a maid by the name of Myranda, recieved the sword, said "Fuck Winter!" and left south, to Dorne, where she married a younger son of house Blackmont.

Thus House Gasa disappeared through the male line, and during Robert's Rebellion through the female one as well, since the only descendant of Lady Myranda died on the Trident.

House Ironwolf was founded after the first Greyjoy rebellion. A northern bastard name Alek Snow help achieved the victory on Pyke that ended the rebellion. After the war ended King Roberet and Lord Stark awared Alek lands and titles and he choose Sea Dragon Point as his seat and bulit a castle and Harbor there. He took him an Ironborn Women for wife so took the name Ironwolf to help merge the too faimlies of the Iron Islands and the Starks of the north. The main industry there is fishing although they bulid londboats and trade heavly witht he Iron Islands and Bear Island. Alek Ironwolf owes his Allegiance to House Stark and the KIng in the North....

History: The House of Inviere was founded during Aegon's Conquest by an unacknowledged Targaryen bastard known as Jaesper, proving himself a capable warrior, his father Aegon I chose to grant him lands and a keep in Dragonstone and allowed him to adopt the name Inviere, an old Valyrian word that means 'Resurrection' (OOC: It's Romanian). The Inviere's fought for the House of Targaryen time and time again, though they did keep feet in both camps during the First Blackfyre Rebellion.

During Robert's Rebellion, they fought for the Targaryen cause to the bitter end, surrenduring and accepting Robert's peace only toward the close of the war, taking their cue from the distant Tyrells and other lords of the Reach.

They have found Stannis's rule quite uncomfortable, finding him to be a very difficult man to deal with and have secretly plotted against both him and the Baratheons to reestablish Targaryen rule in Westeros.

in an undefined exact time, the younger son of said House, contrary to his father's wishes for him to join the NW, joined a band of mummers and bards instead, touring all around Westeros..the tour continued in Essos too, where he experimented with the substances and spices of the East..Details are lost in legend, but he won lands, fame and established a great comercial circuit from his lands in Essos to Westeros, regaining his former House's "respect" ..Even, though some sources say he bought his way back as he needed the Lord's privileges to gain reach to the high nobility (banquets, tourneys, melees etc) in order to promote his products..

The North

House Name: Taltos

Sigil: Three Black Stallions on a White Field

Location: Fanghold

House Sword: Icecutter

History: The Taltos emerged first as a family of bandits who were pardoned by the Starks centuries before the Conquest for saving the life of a Stark son, the Taltos agreed to abandon the ways of the brigand in exchange for good lands, upon which they built the Keep of Fanghold. Due to their origins, the Taltos have proven to be the wildcard house of the North, sometimes violent, sometimes peaceful, difficult to predict, but loyal to the Starks to whom they owe everything and following their lead during the Conquest and the Blackfyre Rebellions without question.

However the War of Five King would prove devastating for the Taltos, when four of the five sons of Lord Plenal died in the Whispering Wood and the fifth died during the Red Wedding, Lord Plenal died of grief soon after, leaving only his two daughters as heirs, the eldest has since taken up the mantle of Lady of Fanghold and while has sworn fealty to the new Wardens of the North, is secretly plotting to bring their regime crashing down in vengeance for the destruction of the Starks.

Lady Kintyra has also sent out agents across Westeros to try and locate Sansa in order to launch a Stark Restoration, even going so far as to send one across the Narrow Sea just in case.

The Riverlands

House Name: Aventus

Sigil: A Dancing Skelleton on a divided field of Silver and Black

House Sword: none

History: The Aventus clan are a young, upstart House, founded a century before the Conquest by a hedge knight named Grinvar the Dancer, famed for his ability to dodge flying arrows during battle, looking like a dancer according to those who witnessed this feat. While they served the Hoares well enough, they joined the Tullys in their rebellion against the Ironborn during the Conquest and were rewarded with a Lordship and larger lands.

During the War of Five Kings, the Aventus sided with King Robb, but one of Lord Gormlaie's sons went south to serve Joffrey I, however that son died in the Blackwater and Lord Gormlaie and most of the rest of his family were killed during the Red Wedding, leaving only one son left to the Aventus Family, Arentino Aventus.

The new Lord of the Shardhome was forced to pledge loyalty to the new Young King on the Iron Throne and suffer a major reduction in his holdings to the Freys, however his steward Lod the Cold has secretly assured his young ward that all is not lost. They just need to wait for winter to come and bring death to their enemies before taking back what was stolen from the House Aventus.

Soon their enemies will learn what it means to dance with death.

The Iron Islands

House Name: Dykon

History: The Dykons are one of the lesser lights of the Ironborn nobility, having been elevated to noble status a few years before the Conquest for saving the life of Harren the Black from a surprise bandit attack. During the centuries of Targaryen rule, the Dykons served the Greyjoys, taking every opportunity to reave and increase their wealth and power whenever possible. 'As Greedy as a Dykon' has become a common phrase among the Ironborn for anyone who is seen as extremely greedy.

The War of Five Kings has proven to be a boom time for the Dykons, whom under Balon IX and now Euron I have been free to reave the seas, and they have taken full advantage, having gained more plunder during the war than any other house save for Euron Greyjoy.

The Vale

House Name: Corpulus

Sigil: A Laughing Fat Man on a Royal Blue Field

House Axe: Onyxheart

History: The House Corpulus descends for a merchant family that rose to prominence six hundred years before the conquest, using their wealth from their business ventures to buy their way into the Vale nobility. Thus they are still seen as upstarts by the majority of the blue bloods, however they have been able to make a series of impressive marriages with those same families due to that very same wealth for which others distain them.

Always merchantmen at heart, the Corpulus Lords have been supportive of every single effort to avoid actual conflict with anyone in order to protect their lands and wealth from harm, but have been forced to take sides during the Blackfyre Rebellions and Roberts Rebellion.

Fortunatly for House Corpulus, they have always chosen the side that won, the War of Five Kings however gave the Corpulus family the rare opportunity to support peace and be on the side of their Liege lord at the same time due to Lysa Arryn's lack of interest in the conflict.

This has had the unfortunate effect of making fast enemies of the Royces, whom have become dangerously powerful in the Vale, which has cause Lord Ris to seek stronger ties with Littlefinger’s new regime to ensure his position is not endangered.

The Westerlands

House Name: Whitemane

Sigil: A Grey Lion with a White Mane on a Red-Brown Field

Location: Yarrvasskr

House Sword: Whitetooth

History: The Whitemanes were founded 500 years ago by the warrior Erlendr Hill, a Westerling bastard, who was granted lands by the Lannisters for his loyal service to Casterly Rock. He married a minor member of the Lannisters and so his children came to be called the Whitemanes. Using the wealth earned from their silver mines, the Whitemanes built the keep Yarrvasskr and over the centuries preferred marriages with other First Men families in lieu of their Andal neighbors.

The Whitemanes supported the Blackfyres during their First Rebellion and suffered for it, but were able to rebound and rebuild their fortunes and had been restored to the last of their lost lands by the reign of Robert I.

The War of Five Kings would prove to be a mixed bag for the Whitemanes, who supported their Lannister Lords to a man, during Robbs invasion of the Westerlands, the Whitemane holdings took a serious blow; Yarrvasskr itself was sacked during the height of the war.

However the Whitemanes were able to return home after the Red Wedding and have already begun the process of rebuilding, but with winter snows already falling, it might already be too late.

The Crownlands

House Name: Lhoaq

Sigil: A Gold Harpy on a Black Field

History: The Lhoaq's came to Westeros over five thousand years ago, having barely escaped with their lives after the downfall of the Ghiscari Empire at the hands of upstart Valyria, the founding lord of the house Grazan Lhoaq became known as 'the Burned' due to the severe burn scars on his face and hands from exposure to dragonfire that brushed near him during the fall of Ghis. Grazan and his five sons settled in the contested region that became known as the Crownlands and established themselves, first as knights, then later as Lords, swearing fealty to whichever of the great powers that were dominant in the region at any given time, yet keeping feet in the other camps for when the winds turned.

This practice ensured their survival and retention of their lands in a region of Westeros where families could rise and fall within a generation with disturbing regularity, until the time of Aegon's Conquest.

Once more the Lhoaq's were faced with the threat of total destruction by dragons, but this time they refused to run, but lacking the power to fight back, Gogaq the Wise chose to submit to Aegon's rule.

During the reign of the Targaryen's, the Lhoaq's were publicly loyal to the regime, yet were secretly uncomfortable with having to serve those whose ancestors had driven them from Ghis in the first place. During the Blackfyre Rebellions and Robert's Rebellion the Lhoaq's followed form and kept feet in both camps.

The reign of Robert I proved to be a major windfall for the Lhoaq's since it increased their lands and ended the disturbing rule of the Targaryens over the Lhoaq family.

The Lhoaqs, despite having been in Westeros for over five thousand years, converting to the Seven, and intermarrying with the local populous, retain a darker skin tone and dark wiry hair.

Dragonstone

House Name: Inviere

Unlike their Royal relatives, the Inviere's retained the worship of the old Valyrian Gods, making them and their converted peasants the last worshipers of the Dragon Gods in the known world.

The Inviere's fought for the House of Targaryen time and time again, though they did keep feet in both camps during the First Blackfyre Rebellion. Over the last three centuries, the Inviere's have become famous for having found no less than four Valyrian blades when most other houses are lucky to have one.

During Robert's Rebellion, they fought for the Targaryen cause to the bitter end, surrendering and accepting Robert's peace only toward the close of the war, taking their cue from the distant Tyrells and other lords of the Reach.

The Stormlands

House Name: Cruelstorm

Sigil: A Disemboweled Man on a Red Background

Location: Rakehaven

House Hammer: Lifebreaker

History: After Aegon's Conquest when his bastard son Orys Baratheon was rewarded with the Stormlands and the last scion of the Storm Kings, one of Orys's truest friends was also rewarded for his loyal service with lands and a keep, that man was Hedric Storm, a bastard son of the Caron's. During the conquest he became known as 'the Cruel' due to his delight in the suffering of his foes, thus within a few generations the Cruelstorm family was born.

Their blood soaked history has made them infamous all over Westeros as the 'Stag's Hangman' due to many of the Cruelstorm Lords taking a direct hand in the torture of enemies of their liege lords.

They served Lord Robert without question during his Rebellion against the dragons, seeing a chance to further pursuit their 'art', as they see the act of torture. Despite his distaste for their activities, so long as the Cruelstorms held to the letter of the law, Robert chose not to go against them and instead retained their services for the use of his new Kingdom.

Under the reign of Joffery I, the Cruelstorms have effectively been given a free hand to truly master their medium, no peasant or enemy of the state in the Seven Kingdoms is safe if they fall into the Cruelstorms hands.

The Reach

House Name: Kingsleigh

Sigil: A Broken Valyrian Steel Crown inside a circle of Seven Stars with Seven Points on a field of Royal Purple

Location: Broken Kings Keep

House Sword: Luthors Crown

History: The Kingsleigh's are an ancient family that go back to the Dawn of Days and ruled over their lands as petty-kings as the Leigh's until the Gardner Kings forced them to submit to their rule, then according to legend the last Leigh King Luthor IV melted down his elaborate and large Valyrian steel crown and turned it into a sword, sworn to service and added Kings to his name in remembrance for what he once was.

The Kingsleighs served the Gardner Kings of the Reach for countless generations until the time of Aegon's Conquest when the Kingsleigh family became divided when Lord Garth's two sons took different sides, the elder died with the Gardner Kings and the younger son took his father's place as Lord Kingsleigh, sword to Targaryen service.

The Kingsleigh's supported the Targaryens completely during the Blackfyre Rebellions and during Robert's Rebellion as well, surrendering only when the Tyrell's did.

Unlike some of the other houses of the Reach, the Kingsleighs have proven content with the rule of the old Gardner Stewards, so long as they are competent at it.

Dorne

House Name: Shadelight

Sigil: A Gorgon on a Blood Red Field

Location: Gorgon's Lair

Sword: Shade's Son

History: The Shadelights were an ancient Rhoynari noble family with close ties to the Princes of Rhoynar until the Valyrian Invasion drove Nymeria and her loyal followers to Westeros, among them the last scion of the Shadelight's, the Lady Ishtara. During Nymeria and Mors Martell's conquest of Dorne, Ishtara fell in love with a strong warrior named Vlayde Sand, a bastard of the Yronwood's, and quickly married him, granted him her name, and bore him a son.

After the conquest for their loyal service, the new Prince of Dorne granted the Shadelights a keep that became known as the Gorgon's Lair and they have faithfully served the Martells ever since.

During the Targaryen attempts at conquest, the Lords and Warrior-Ladies of Shadelight played critical roles in driving the dragons out of the sands of Dorne, and later held true to the Martells during the Blackfyre Rebellions against those in Dorne who would support the false-kings.

In the aftermath of Robert's Rebellion, the Shadelights joined those who called for a continuation of the war due to the murder of Princess Elia and pressed hard to join in the War of Five Kings but continued to follow Doran Martell's orders, even if they didn't like it.

Unusually for houses in Dorne, bastards born to the Shadelights are not given the surname 'Sand' but 'Shadow' instead.

House Weapon: An others sword prised from its grip by the third Lord Mackay

Backstory: House Mackays was formed by first men who left to the islands to escape fighting of the time. Crimson Keep has never been taken because althougth House Mackay can only Muster 600 men it was carved out of a cliff facing the sea and is almost impossible to take. The smallfolk who live on their lands love them because their has been almost no fighting around them and they have been protected from raids by House Greyjoy. The only fighting House Mackay has taken part in was the Blackfyre rebellion and they were unpunished when it failed.

House Weapon: A long sword made of Valyrian Steel named "Watcher" and a reinforced (magically treated by the Children of the Forest to improve its durability) dragon glass spear named "Cold's Bane"

Sworn to: Brandon the Builder (and thus to House Stark?)

Allies: Children of the Forest

Backstory: After the construction of The Wall and the formation of the Night's Watch to man and guard it, the heroes of the Battle of the Dawn decided to march further north, towards the Land of Always Winter where they believed that the Others originated, and possibly more are still based. Leading the band of First Men, Children of the Forest, Giants are the legendary Brandon the Builder himself, Lann the Clever, Durann, the first Storm King, and Dante Gray, the hero of the Battle of the Wolfswood.

The party marched for months until they reached their destination only to discover a vast army of Others lurking in this forbidding winter wasteland, preparing for another wave of attack to the lands south. Knowing the odds against them, Brandon the Builder started building of what is to become of Fortress Gray and sent a raven back to the South to relay of what they have discovered and as well as order the mobilization of troops towards their location.

The first battle came when the army of Others started marching only to be hampered by the fort held by Brandon the Builder and his party. The fortress managed to repel the attack thanks to the crafty war machines created by Brandon that rained burning obsidian and the magics of the Children of the Forest. Obsidian fell like hot rain and the once serene faces in the trees burst into life.

The final battle concluded in the defeat of the of Others through the timely arrival of the bulk of the Armies of the First Men, Children of the Forest and Giants. These forced the white walkers to retreat deeper in the frozen uncharted north, wounded but not undefeated and waiting for chance for revenge.

With the threat still looming over Westeros, the Children of the Forest decided to settle in this fringes and abandon the South to watch guard. With them stayed some of the First Men led by Dante Gray.

Time passed quickly and in the Land of Always Winter stood the great Fortress Gray ruled by House Gray. Together with their allies in the Last Haven, bastion of the Children of the Forest, they stood watch, preventing the armies of Others from pouring to the lands South, the lands they cherish yet so alien to them.

A House forgotten for so long.

Sword: Restgiver, was lost when First Flame was put to the torch. Dawnfires still believe that when Restgiver is found it shall be time to take it up again against their ancient enemies, the Others.

Blood: Lady Astala was originally Dornish, and the Dornish traits are still apparent in the Dawnfires.

Religion: R'hllor the Red God

Vassals: House Umber once swore fealty to First Flame, but ceased doing so with the coming of the Targaryens.

Allies: Has strong blood ties with the Starks of Winterfell and the Chieftans of Skagos. The Lord of House Dawnfire traditionally maintains secret communications with the Children of the Forest through the Weirwood network, but when Lord Narian was killed, he died before passing on the secret to his son.

House Dawnfire and First Flame were founded after the War for the Dawn. Lady Astala lead a band of fighters against the Others during the War for the Dawn after losing all of her children in the initial invasion and proved instrumental in regaining the North. When Brandon Stark was named the first King in the North, Astala was rewarded with First Flame, a great fortress on the edge of the Gift. First Flame was to be the North's first and mightiest defence against Others in the unlikely event that the Wall should fall.

House Dawnfire continued their line unbroken for eight thousand years as loyal subjects to the King in the North. Dawnfires and Starks often married and their strong alliance helped to put down the Boltons in their constant rebellions against Winterfell.

When Aegon and his sisters landed in Westeros, Lord Narian Dawnfire urged Torrhen Stark to take his banners south and fight off the Targaryens. For reasons still unknown, when Torrhen bent the knee to Aegon, Narian returned to First Flame in a black rage. The Dawnfires called their banners and marched toward Winterfell in the name of Northern freedom and independence, though the maesters of Oldtown believe that there must have been another reason for his rebellion, though it is not known what. The Dawnfires proved such a problem to the Starks that Aegon himself had to come North to put their rebellion down and his dragon had to burn First Flame to the ground.

After that, the remaining few Dawnfires fled to Skagos where they married into one of the Skagosi noble families. The Starks knew of this, yet never bothered to stamp them out entirely because they posed no threat on Skagos. Since then, the Dawnfires have slowly grown in the numbers and power on Skagos and still dream of returning to their home and birthright to rebuild. When Robb Stark was crowned King in the North, they considered going to swear fealty once more at Winterfell, but when the ironborn invaded they prepared to lead raids on Deepwood Motte, Winterfell and Torrhen's Square to clear the way for Robb Stark's returning army. When they heard of the Red Wedding, Lord Elion swore vengeance of Houses Bolton and Frey and currently harbours Rickon Stark as a page in their new keep. They are working with a secret alliance of northmen loyal to the Starks, known as the Pack (including the Umbers, Wyman Manderly and the Glovers) to take back the North for King Rickon.

An ancient house, descended from the First Men, House Stonepyre was first named House Aerek. It's ancestral home of Hunter's Hold long served as a trading post with Andal, and later Valyrian merchants.

House Aerek feuded bitterly with the Karstarks over control of the forests inland of the Grey Cliffs. Hunter's Hold was taken by siege hundreds of years before Aegon's Landing, and Lord Reyis Aerek was exiled to Qohor by the Brandon the Bad, the current King in the North.

In Qohor, Reyis married a wealthy merchant's sister, and established himself as an affluent trader. It is said (by members of the House) that Aegon's painted table was made with Qohoric wood sold to him by Aerek Raeyen. After Aegon's Conquest, the Aerek's returned from exile to reclaim their seat at Hunter's Hold. Their current name is derived from the reported manner in which they defeated the Karstark vassals at Hunter's Hold: by engulfing the castle with wildfire.

Following their reclamation of Hunter's Hold, their House faded out of memory. Their fellow Northmen disdained them as Qohoric foreigners, and they were soon outmaneuvered by the Karstarks and Boltons for the bulk of their lands.

Backstory: Born in the forests beyond the Wall, the 3 siblings Kyndra, Kyra, and Krystofer grew up in a harsh land. With them they took the family "pet", an old, white direwolf named Ani.

Between the climate, and the creatures of the north, their journey was not an easy one. Once they got as close to the Wall as they dared go, they decided it would be best to build a boat and take Milkwater into the Bay of Ice. From there they rowed until they reached the northern shore of the Wolfswood. Because of her age, and the harsh journey, Ani died before they reached the Wolfswood. The 3 siblings burind her there once they landed.

Allies: Was once the vassals of House Manderly, but when they fled North, the Southwoods were forced to leave the Reach. They were accepted as a vassal by the Tullys. Since then, they have remained leal servants of Riverrun. They also have strong ties by marriage and friendship with the Mallisters of Seagard and the Mootons.

Status: Currently in rebellion for their dead king Robb and their captive liege lord Edmure. Were forced to abandon their castle when the Freys took Riverrun and since then have joined Lady Stoneheart in her vengeance campaign.

Before they were forced to leave the Reach by the increasingly prominent Gardener Kings, House Southwood was an uneasy bannerman to House Manderly. There were several wars between them before they were battered into submission and the Manderlys had the blood of many Southwoods on their hands. When House Southwood rose in rebellion once again, this time with the support of the Gardeners, the Manderlys cut their losses and fled. House Southwood presumed they would take Manderly's lands and keeps and vassals. But the Gardener king of the time, notoriously cunning and cruel, exiled them from his kingdom, saying they had already proved their treacherous nature and were no longer wanted in his kingdom. The Manderlys lands were instead gifted to a younger Gardener son.

They went north, onto the Red Fork and asked leave to build a keep of the Tullys who, at this time, were only vassals of House Hoare of the Isles. They agreed on the condition that Southwood would forever swear loyalty to House Tully. They did so. Since then, they have been loyal to the Tullys, supporting them when they went over to the Targaryens after the landing, and again when they betrayed the Iron Throne for Robert Baratheon. During the Rebellion, the Southwoods largely remained in the riverlands. Their forces were to guard the River Road against any Lannisters should they have stayed loyal to Aerys and attacked an otherwise defenceless Riverrun. Fortunately, they were never required to fight.

Recently, House Southwood assisted the Tullys in their rebellion against the Iron Throne in favour of Robb Stark after the Lannister siege on Goldenstream was broken by northmen. They had many family members at the Red Wedding, both in the camps and the Twins. They continued to resist the tide of Lannisters in the riverlands when their king was dead, despite the hopelessness of their situation. Before fleeing to join Lady Stoneheart in her guerilla war, they attempted one last attack to break the Frey siege which was obviously futile. They left Goldenstream with all their levies and most of the landed knights and hedge knights sworn to Southwood and joined their strength to the Brotherhood without Banners. UnCat gave them a vital mission, as a reward for their loyalty to her son and brother, one that could change the tide of the war. Lord Hoster is to lead thirty knights plus two hundred men at arms, the majority of the Brotherhood's strength into an ambush of the Lannister force escorting Edmure to the Rock. Stoneheart intends to use Edmure as a means to rouse the riverlords loyal to her brother once more into rebellion and reclaim her home.
