HodorSaysHodor Posted August 17, 2011 Share Posted August 17, 2011 Does anybody know why the Selaesori Qhoran (Tyrion and Jorah's boat) has a pickled corpse in it's hold? That struck me as kind of an odd thing to ship across an ocean...I can't recall where the Selaesori originated from, but I assumed that it was Maester Aemon Targaryen's body (from the Wall), after he had died enroute to Oldtown, with Sam. It was mentioned in a previous chapter, that the men at the Citadel had placed his body in a barrel of vinegar, in hopes of preserving it, and were sending it back to Eastwatch for burial. Tyrion arrives in Meereen well before Victarion, and Victarion left well before Aemon's corpse reached Oldtown. Ergo that can't be Aemon's body. So when Wyman's people later killed the Freys, it was not done in violation of guest right.You confirmed my theory that since the Freys, on their way to Winterfell, were no longer staying under Lord Wyman's roof, they were no longer his guests, so he used that loophole to strike while avoiding the breach of the sacred laws of hospitality.
