What will become of the Lannister siblings

If Tyrion had opened his mouth up and told Cersei that Alayaya was not his whore, instead of deciding to use her to protect Shae and to try to dominate Cersei, Alayaya would never have been hurt.

You don't really follow it through, do you? Alyanaya was a hostage. If Tyrion had told the truth, she would have been worthless – unless Cersei had thought Tyrion was bluffing. Cersei would have punched a few extra holes to Alayaya in front of Tyrion in order to find out if he really had told the truth. I would have, and Cersei is certainly not Tyrion's fool.

Tyrion wantonly endangers her by letting Cersei believe that she is someone she is not but its okay because he tried to ensure her safety by threatening to rape an 8 year old child -- himself?

Tyrion plays the part of a monster quite well; no wonder everyone thinks he is one. Alayaya is like Shae, a bone caught between two nasty dogs. And she paid the price.

Tyrion plays the monster pitifully, while Cersei descends to the Roose Bolton levels after Joff's murder.

I think the Lannister siblings will bring down House Lannister just like their dad brought down those two houses," The Rains of Castamere",how fitting.

I agree, or at least they will come very close to destroying their own house.

I hope that Cersei can get her act together and start being the stone cold evil bitch queen I know she can be, until she gets overthrown and strangled, that is. Her descent into paranoia and and ineffectiveness was disappointing, I enjoy a good evil character and I hope she comes roaring back and starts a massive shit storm. If she finds out who really dropped the poison into the wedding cup, it would provide a reason for her to start a war with the Tyrells and since the Lannisters don't have much of an army left, I think they'd lose badly and that could lead to Margarey taking over as the young queen in Maggy's prophacy.

I don't trust Jaime's redemption arc, I still think he is doing things so that he has something nice to write in his book and he doesn't really regret anything he's done. I also like him less, after the so-called redemption began, I guess boring Brienne rubbed off on him. If he doesn't get hanged, maybe he'll have an ephiphany and go and join Elder Brother on the QI. Then Lefty the Monk and Limpy the Gravedigger will be pressed into service to protect the other monks from raiders or need to run to Sansa's rescue. I don't think he'll join the Night's Watch because the Wall is coming down and no one needs to guard ice cubes.

Tyrion will hopefully hit rock bottom soon, some other posters have speculated that Penny is his conscience, if so, maybe he will realize what an ass he's become and start a true redemption arc. His character has the potential to do anything, he could have a real redemption or he could end up strangling his sister, betraying Dany and trying to take over Westeros. Maybe he could become a monk too, no, he talks too much.

I start a thread for you and then don't answer your post; I suck. :(

I think Dany's storyline will be tied to the defeat of the Others, and she will die a heroic death in battle against them.

I really don't know. Killing Tommen would destroy the Lannister and Tyrell alliance and hold on KL, especially with Myrcella in Dorne. It is possible that Tommen, Myrcella, and Cersei will all flee for the Rock but I think its a good chance that he might die and then Cersei runs. I'm not sure that the valonquar prophecy will even happen, tbh, but I think she's right about it being Tyrion by now. Jaime thought about killing her in his jealous sexual rage, and decided against it for the sake of the kids.

Cersei already felt guilt and shame over Sansa. Reread her Great Nude Parade, and you can see it.

Victarion is like Quentyn, a walking plot device. A far more entertaining plot device, but nonetheless, a plot device. While Quentyn freed the dragons, and is the impetus for emnity between Dorne and Dany, I'm not sure what Victarion will do. But he has some purpose to fulfill, probably involving his horn, before he gets fried by dragon.

Pure speculation, but my theory ftw. Jaime gets hanged off camera by the BwB (I hate you Jaime, but I'll still miss your POVs). Brienne, Pod, and Ser Hyle are now stuck with unCatelyn. Sansa and LF come traveling to the riverlands and make it to Orphan Inn. The BwB scoops them up, and Sansa watches as unCat hangs LF for lying to her about the dagger. Sansa freaks. Brienne, Pod, and Ser Hyle help her sneak away at night, and Brienne decides to flee to the QI. Where a certain tall man with a covered face is busy digging graves...

My theories: 1) He marries Sansa and makes her a queen. 2) He marries Myrcella, crowning her before her death. 3) He dies a sad and heroic death in battle against the Others after uniting the realm against them. 4) Mad Daenerys Kinslayer fries him by dragon.

Heh, no problem. Looks like you were quite busy with the rampant Tyrion defense posts that you predicted. I am not going to defend Tyrion.

What I will say though is that even if his intentions were shitty with abducting the kids, I'm kinda glad he did. They were both having a blast, by all accounts. And Myrcella's kiddie crush with Trystane Martell was absolutely ADORABLE! I think she was treated really well in Dorne, and it's a great place for kids. Let's face it, it's like an endless waterpark LOL Doran was always going on about how much he loves kids, so she couldn't have been in a better place. So if Tyrion's intentions were shitty there, it really worked against what he wanted.

I could agree about Victarion. I don't know what will happen, but getting fried is likely in the cards. He's another guy arriving that is really out of his depth. At least with the dragons. But he's much more of a badass and he has a fire priest so he might be able to pull something out of the bag.

I don't want LF continuing on with Sansa anywhere. Seriously. I want her to get away from his influence. He's such a creep. Someone has to do something about him in the next book, I don't even care who. There is something about his leering which is like 10 times worse than Sandor's.

I want Sansa to help young Robert grow up. He just has to survive. And I want him to kill Littlefinger for manipulating his mother into destroying their family.

As for the Lannisters:

1. Cersei dies. Jaime kills her. You know, prophecy and stuff.

2. Jaime lives to become a better man. However, the history repeats itself - he kills the mad Cersei and everyone hates him for being a "queenslayer".

3. Tyrion reunites with Sansa... and probably dies shortly after that. I want to see him happy, I want to see him being the Hand of queen Dany, but probably it wouldn't happen. GRRM is not as good :D

Good food for thought Alexia, but some I things quibble with:

1. As much as I dislike Jaime - I don't think he's dead and I don't think his part in the narrative is complete either - We still have that dream vision of Bran's where he sees Sansa and Arya surrounded by the looming giant and the Hound and a golden man - I'm assuming that the Golden man is Jaime and maybe he will be the one to take down unGregor, which would be kinda sweet given that Gregor is Cersei's champion and will probably become her personal bodyguard next.

Where was this? How did I miss it? Jaime is by far my favoritest-est-est character, so I'm biased...but here's what I think.

1. Cersei- I actually hated her all the way until SOS. Mostly by reading how Jaime thought about her. Then I started to enjoy her in FFC- getting her viewpoint and wanting to be tough and strong and smarter than the men in her family. However, Cersei doesn't change. GRRM does a remarkably well job in keeping her completely constant. She is paranoid and selfish beyond belief. She sabotages herself so many times over the course of the series. Even after she gets her freedom- everything still revolves around her. In doing so, she loses and turns everyone against her. I want to be the one strangling her for her stupidity. That said, I think she probably misinterpreted the "prophecy." She misinterprets and construes most everything to be directed at her. If the prophecy is true, she will be the cause of it. I think Myrcella could even be the other queen (but not likely). I don't think Cersei will fall far enough for my tastes or even be damaged too much. About the Valonquar- I don't have the books with me atm so this might be off the wall completely- just /slap if it is: Do any religious orders call people "brothers" .. like there are the "silent sisters"? Could valonquar refer to that? Or could the valonquar refer to a younger brother of someone else?

2. Jaime- Who doesn't hate Jaime for what he does to Bran? or Aerys? or for screwing his sister? UNTIL you learn the reasons 'why.' Once he and Cat have their jail talk time, he truly starts to change. He is trying and trying to go about things differently. He gets a taste or his own mortality and wakes up. He truly does love Cersei, but he realizes that she is a lost cause.. and a selfish cause- he would have gone to KL to defend her, but finding Cat's kids and making things right again are more important. Well... I hope he isn't dead, but I think it's possible. We see someone start to succeed (i.e. Jon in ADWD) and then nothing good comes from it. I would like him to completely redeem himself, but I think his time is almost over. A meeting with Tyrion would be so awesome, but I dunno how that will happen. It would be cool if he faced UnGreg, but don't see that happening either.

3. Tyrion- Up in the air. We see a different Tyrion - a more vulnerable?- in ADWD. I do think Penny is part of the reason for this as well as his thoughts on his father's murder. Somehow Tyrion will get the Second Sons to Dany and get back to Westeros. I would LOVE for him to visit the Citadel :) I don't think he will kill Cersei either...too obvious and sweet to happen.

In any case.. what part do the Lannisters really play besides mucking up the Iron Throne? Are they part of any prophecy or future? Nothing remotely links them to the Others, the Children, AA, or the PTWP... We know and care too much for all three for them to just simply be 'pawns' in the game...but then again, this is ASOIAF

Tyrion -- Is he evil? Well, let's not forget he's a multiple murderer, hmmn? He had the 2nd in command of the Golden Cloaks thrown overboard, he had the singer murdered and cooked into a stew, he strangled Shae with his own hands, he killed his father, he poisoned Nurse -- did I forget any? Even if all those people deserved to die, the fact that Tyrion did those things, especially strangling Shae, means there's something rotten in Denmark. I hope that Sansa really does become a widow, and sooner would be better than later.

Myrcella -- I actually think she's safer in Dorne than she would be in King's Landing, especially while Doran is alive. He's no child killer, and in addition, Trystane (sp?) likes her, Arianne feels guilty about her injuries. If anything happens to Myrcella, I think it might happen while Arys Oakheart is escorting her back to KL. If they go by land, they'll pass close (or through?) the Stormlands, which, imo, will shortly be held by Aegon and the Golden Company. If they go by sea, they risk running into the Ironborn. Yipes.

Tommen -- poor boy. It's in the Tyrells interest to keep Tommen safe as long as possible, because surely they don't think they can marry Margaery off to a forth king. Or do they? If Aegon is successful (and I think he will be, in the shortrun) and defeats their army, they might decide to cut their losses by eliminating Tommen.

Jaime -- well, it's my personal extreme crackpot theory that Brienne is Azor Ahai ("Maid of Tarth" = "Maid of Orleans"?), that the red sword forged from Ice is Lightbringer, and that Jaime is Nissa Nissa. And you know what happened to Nissa Nissa. But even without the crackpottery, I think that GRRM has been setting up a second fight between Brienne and Jaime, and that Jaime might sacrifice himself to save her.

Cersei -- I believe that Maggy the Frog's prophecy is largely self-fulfilling, and that Cersei will in fact be killed by Tyrion. Shae's murder -- strangulation by golden hands -- is a foreshadowing of Cersei's fate.

HA! My bro and I actually loved this. It is totally possible. Especially since DWD. I think you're onto something with the sword though.. I posted something crazy about it being reforged. Definitely with ya' on Cersei though.

Everyone's has great theories! Guess we'll find out for sure when we get the next book, or two or three... Anyway, here's what I think.

Cersei- Valanqor is 'little brother' so it's either Tyrion or Jaime. Cersei thinks its Tyrion which means its not. We as readers are suppose to forget that Cersei was born before Jaime (It's only mentioned once I think) so he's not obvious as the one to kill her, but he will. As for the young queen, my vote is for Myrcella. Cersei's own daughter casting her out, what could be more painful and fitting for that wench? Myrcella's doomed to wear a crown and die either way-I'm an avid believer in the literal "gold their crowns and gold their shrouds"-so why not kick Cersei on the way out?

Jaime- Sad to say he'll die by the end of the series, as I've grown to like the one-handed guy, but all things come to an end. He'll make a pact with Stoneheart to kill Cersei (and maybe his kids too) and then off he'll go to strangle her. Cersei keeps saying they'll die together, so maybe she stabs him as he strangles her and they meet their end locked in an embrace.

Tyrion- No idea where he'll end up, but I really hope he finds out where whores go.

Why? And this is a general question for everyone who hopes to see him meet up with Tysha -- what do you want, and what do you expect, to come of such a meeting?

I'd like to see Tysha, though not necessarily meeting Tyrion. Anyway, if they met, it would be a good way for him to stop idealizing her, like Lyanna reappearing alive and meeting Robert.

Yeah, I can't imagine that being a happy meeting seeing as how Tyrion stood by as his father had a scared 13 year old girl raped by his guards, before Tyrion took his turn, and did nothing as she was "paid" and thrown out of King's Landing with regard as being nothing other than a "whore" doesn't seem like something someone would forgive. The fact that Tyrion keeps regarding in that way (asking 'where do whores go' as if he is looking for a whore) and doesn't consider that Tywin simply used the word to further degrade the woman Tyrion supposedly loved also bothers me.

Glad I'm not the only one who wonders if Jaime will make an oath with UnCat to kill his sister. I also think that readers are supposed to forget that Cersei is really the oldest Lannister, even if only by a few minutes.

I disagree that Myrcella will unseat her mother though; I think all three children will probably end up dead, just like the prophecy suggests, unless shroud can somehow be twisted to fit multiple meanings like "golden will be their crowns."

How do you think Sansa will react to

Cersei's great nude parade? I know this sounds unfeminist but I think she will be delighted

I soooooo hope we get Sansa's reaction, considering that Sansa was humiliated in a similar way. And I'm hoping she reacts with glee -- if there's anyone entitled to do a little gloating (unladylike as it may be) it's Sansa.

yeah I think she'll gloat too...

It would be good and ironic too Cersei starts to feel guilty and Sansa starts to feel great.

Tyrion is playing the monster that everyone makes him out to be. In DwD he's bitter, friendless, and alone. At every turn in the book he's belittled, spat on, beaten, and imprisoned. He's got a contract out on his head, literally. Prior to all that he comes to Kings Landing (after being wrongfully imprisoned by Cat) to dish out justice, makes some really smart decisions, and is vilified for them. A member of the KG tries to kill him and Tyrion wakes up stripped of all his power (and his nose). He is framed for his nephew's murder. He finds out his beloved brother, one of the two people he loves/trusts betrayed him, taking the one woman that loved him away. He finds the woman he foolishly fell in love with in his father's bed, the same father who did nothing but put him down his entire life. And at every turn he is mocked and shitted on for being born a dwarf. I mean...if you don't understand why Tyrion spirals into darkness after all of that ... :dunno:

I don't think Tyrion is going to die. One thing we see again and again with Tyrion is his ability to come out on top no matter how hopeless the situation he's thrown into. He is Lann the Clever reborn, foiling all his enemies through his wits.

I was disappointed at first that he didn't get to meet Dany and took so long to get to Meereen, but, when I thought about it, there were a lot of obstacles to overcome and this way is more realistic.

The real test for that will be whether he can refrain from answering Dany's "So why did you seek me out here in Meeren / whereever I am now?" with "Oh, you know, I just wanted to find out where whores go".

How do you think he will share that sob story about his wife to explain his defection

If he has any wits he will leave his own participation out.

He will make his interactions with Daenerys go down a bit easier if he is honest about things and tries to come across as sympathetic, rather than going "they expect monster I will give them monster".

Tyrion: Our Giant of a Lannister may get killed off by Sansa. He treated her terribly and if they meet up again I doubt she would like to return to being his wife. In the month they were together he made her absolutely miserable and his treatment of women is appalling. They are incredibly unsuited and if she remains his wife, she will be despised by the North and Rickon if he emerges.

Jaime: I think his little converstation with Edmure will be his death knell. Before he threatens to destroy Riverrun completely, put all its smallfolk to the sword and send Edmure his baby in a trebuchet, he thinks "Let them hear, Let the world hear. It makes no matter." Given the singer listening is a member of the BWB and that is where Jaime is currently headed, I think it will matter. It will matter a lot to his neck.

Cersei: Will lose all her children. I think those tapestries Littlefinger wants are going to be proof against Tommen and he will end up dead (and because LF is working towards power through support of Sansa, she is yet again indirectly part of the prophecy). Don't know what will happen with Myrcella, but she will die. Then I think it will be Edmure to strangle Cersei at the Rock.

Some of these maybe a tad crackpot and almost certainly what's not going to happen!
