Adam Jacob Knight
I'm about to finish AGoT, but before I do, my brother recommended that I stop and wait a week or two before I pick up A Clash of Kings. Do you agree with him? I'd like to just pick it up and run with it tonight, but I'd like to hear some other opinions first.
irishtemper
Well I would keep reading until I passed out mid sentence at 6 in the morning...but that's just me
LuisDantas
There is nothing in the books themselves that makes a wait period particularly desirable. For what it is worth, ACOK is a fairly different experience in contrast to AGOT, with lots of new characters and very distinct situations. But not so much so that you can't just read one after the other, IMO.
The hairy bear
Somehow I agree with your brother. Perhaps two weeks is a little too much, but in huge intrincated works like ASOIAF I find that its very interesting to stop now and then for a while (after each book, or after a particularly game-changing chapter) to reflect about what has happened and try to foresee what's to come.Although I confess I never have this self-restraining capacity... :P
Crown
I've started reading A Song of Ice and Fire on September 14th, If I'm correct, and I'm now halfway through A Feast for Crows. I must say I was planning to take a one week break between every book, but I couldn't, I kept on reading. However, I managed to read one chapter a day now, with a Feast for Crows, and I hope I can maintain that speed.
Adam Jacob Knight
I'm going to go with his advice then and wait a few days. Hopefully I can stick with this speed. :P Thanks everyone.
