Lord Varys
Considering the fact that Jon Snow is the glue which holds together the Night's Watch, the wildlings, and Stannis's men, his death will have huge impact on pretty much everyone. It could very well lead to an all-out civil war between those factions, and possibly the Northern houses as well (Lady Alys Karstark and her Thenn consort won't sit idly by when they learn what happened at the Wall). But what happens if Melisandre would1. Approach the dying Jon and his murderers.2. Assassinate them with her black poison powder (mentioned in her chapter).3. Takes his body into her custody before he actually dies, and creates a glamor to play his role afterwards, or has somebody in her employ play his role (just as Mance played Rattleshirt)? In the meantime she could look for a way to heal him and transfer his body from Ghost back into his bodyHas anybody every considered that? This would be the only way I think an all-out war/utter chaos at the Wall could be avoided. If things don't get quiet again as soon as possible all the alliances and preparations Jon made for the coming storm would be unmade or useless. All the alliances were made by him, and especially the alliance with the wildlings, the Braavosi, and the Northern lords only work because the parties involved respect and know Jon Snow. Whoever succeeds him would be in a very bad position indeed...
