Bolivar
Lyn Corbray, Oberyn Martell and Victarion Greyjoy.Jaime thinks about this in ASoS, and he takes the Cleganes off this list because of speed and skill. I don't recall if Barristan is mentioned in the passage, but he's well past his prime, whereas Jaime is in his. That's why I pick Victarion - not only is he a hell of a fighter but his first chapter sets up just how in his prime he is.Oberyn's battle-tested; he's fought in the free companies and is deceitful.Lyn Corbray wields Lady Forlorn and killed Prince Lewyn Martell of the Kingsguard at the Trident I believe, and he was considerably young at the time (Martell may have been injured and the details of the story embellished). He's only more seasoned, more deceitful, and more dangerous.
ShowOverBooks
I don't believe for a second that The Mountain is not on that list.
theriveryeti
Considering the description of Mance (as Rattleshirt) fighting Jon, I'd put him in the top 3. He's been in as many battles as anyone during the course of the books, and it hasn't been tourney b.s.

WiDMNDBAMMD
Jaime's probably thinking of Barristan(who he doesn't know has left the realm ironically), Sandor and Gregor Clemene when he makes the comment to Brienne.
JoePescisBoss
My guess would be the Clegane brothers and maybe Ser Barristan on Loras Tyrell.Considering how they talked about Ser Barristan, I have no doubt that he is the best.
GallowsKnight
Barristan "The Bold" SelmySandor "The Hound" CleganeBrynden "Blackfish" TullyBarristan is the last remaining of Aerys' legendary kingsguard, Sandor is a machine with speed, strength and skill. Brynden is an experienced veteran and one of Jaime's childhood heroes.
chewietobbacca
Definitely must have Barristan on the list... he's the only one Jaime in both TV and book form has universal praise for, something he rarely gives out to anyone at this point in his character
