Golden Lady
I think Ice and fire refers to: Ice = Jon, Fire = Dany, Stark and TargaryenIt also can be -->ICE : Lyanna FIRE : Rhaegar
House Draper
About "A Song of Ice and Fire":GRRM was asked about it, and he said that he liked when things like that work on multiple levels, so:Jon - DanyJon himself - Stark+TargOthers - DragonsNorse - SouthronsBeyond the wall - Asshai - the two opposite ends of the worldOld Gods - RhlorrFirst men - TargsLong summer - Long WinterHeck, even Jorah Mormont - an Ice warrior, who fights for the Fire sideI think it works on all those levels - dualism is the key.Exactly. I don't think we have to limit this to one meaning. Metaphors are more poignant when they represent more than one idea, anyway. The "song of ice and fire" works on multiple levels, each of which should support the other.
