Rolex Baratheon
Whenever I read Samwell chapters, which I really like, there is often a time where the fat old teddy bear cum Man of the Night's Watch is plodding around in the snow, or running around in that nervous way he does in Castle Black. Poor guy had some serious exertion after the Fist of the First Men incidents.I was just wondering why, after so much running through deep snows with frozen fingers and all that, Samwell Tarly of Horn Hill is still fat. KhalFrodo
I thought towards the end of his boat ride, he describes himself as getting muscular. I'll have to take a look later to get you a legit answer though.

Rolex Baratheon
Because he is the Ham, born admist salt and smoke.LOL. Made me laugh there. But seriously, I'm pretty sure he doesn't keep the fat for a bit of extra warmth. I don't think he wants to get any slower at running. Why is Samwell so childish? Pellaeon
He stated his trousers would be to wide, he losed weight, but if you lose 20 kg when you had 130 kg, you are still fat

RenlyIsNotRight
Some people are just big boned and can't really be thin no matter what. Though you'd think Sam would have at least "hardened" a bit (no...not in the way he did when he so much as bumped into Gilly)

rosiemags
I have wondered this a million times! Especially after he keeps throwing up constantly on the boat. I like the glandular problem idea, though. Underactive thyroid, perhaps?

Give Cersei some LOVE
yes he did mention that he isn't the soft-fat kind anymore. Rather it was the fat-muscular kind. It was during their trip I'm not sure if it was before arriving in Braavos or on their way to Oldtown.
