But what if the prohpecy already existed before Quaithe first met Dany? Perhaps the whole east = west part has already been fulfilled. After Drogo died and his bloodriders abandoned her in the Dothraki Sea she headed east intead of crawling back to the Free Cities, and because of that she now has a badass army and dragons big enough to ride, which means she has an actual shot a taking Westeros.

Remember the prophecy from the House of the Undying?

three fires must you light... one for life and one for death and one to love... three mounts must you ride... one to bed and one to dread and one to love... three treasons will you know... once for blood and once for gold and once for love..

IMO:

Fire for death = the pyre at the end of AGOT (not so sure as the rest, but that's not the point here);

Mount to bed = Silver on her wedding night;

Treason for blood = MMD;

Treason for gold = Jorah;

This would mean that almost half the prophecy was already fulfilled when Dany heard it.

As GRRM said no POVs in Asshai, I think this is highly probable.

Just on more thought on the Others/Great Other equivalency: The First Men called that period "The Long Night" and after the Last Hero did his deed came "The Age of Dawn", that surely draws some parallels between cold/heat, darkness/light, LH/AA, doesn't it?
