Is Dany actually the ANTAGONIST?

Dany could be the antagonist in the eyes of other people, but we have her POV's, and we know that she doesn't want to be evil like her brother was. If we didn't have any POV about her, maybe we think that she is stupid, boring, or cool and smart. But we have her POV's. That changes our thinking about her.

I know that at least i will be against her. The way she thinks of "usurpers dogs" with no reality at all. Ignoring stuff people says unless she wants to here it. People love to say "well Quentyn was a d-bag and didnt do a good job" He and his father committed TREASON to send him across the world and bring her back to a safe place where she can begin their conquest with a bonus of 10,000 troops. Not to mention she married some weirdo who was plotting for himself instead. Her affair with her sellsword buddy is actually the only part i dont mind about her.

Yeah, it's a damn shame that a fifteen year old, who up until two years ago had zero leadership or battle experience, can't be better at making tactical decisions and character evaluations about people she's only heard horror stories about. What a stupid bitch.

And for the record, more people blame Doran for his idiotic plan than Quentyn for executing it poorly. Yes, Dorne would have given her a good foothold to start her invasion, but waiting until the 11th hour to contact her (again, she knew nothing about this plan until Quentyn showed up) and not sending any kind of armed escort is borderline mentally retarded.

And I do believe that marriage was done so her people would stop getting butchered in the streets. Again, what a bitch.

Actually, that is a very good argument why Dany shouldn't get into a position of power. She fucks up.

She didn't do that. Quentyn was called "Frog" as his codename. She didn't laugh in his face. Quentyn has no negative thoughts of Dany's reception of him.

Dhe says when she was little she remembers stories about a prince being trapped as a frog or whatever and you have to kiss it and she asks if she kisses him will he turn into a handsome prince or something like that and laughs at him

Not even close:

“They call him frog,” she said, “and we have just learned why. In the Seven Kingdoms there are children’s tales of frogs who turn into enchanted princes when kissed by their true love.” Smiling at the Dornish knights, she switched back to the Common Tongue. “Tell me, Prince Quentyn, are youenchanted?”

“No, Your Grace.”

“I feared as much.” Neither enchanted nor enchanting, alas. A pity he’s the prince, and not the one with the wide shoulders and the sandy hair. “You have come for a kiss, however. You mean to marryme. Is that the way of it? The gift you bring me is your own sweet self. Instead of Viserys and your sister, you and I must seal this pact if I want Dorne.”

“My father hoped that you might find me acceptable.”

Not sure what your getting at?? I never called her a bitch and at the end of my post i said that people will disagree and its not a big deal. BUT since you started it.

Doran DID send a escort. Most of them died on the way when they got attacked by pirates. Also the more people he sends the easier it would be for it to get back to KL. The plan to send Quentyn was a good one in my opinion.

As for her marriage, people would not have been killed in the street if she wouldn't have conquered the damn city. Yes it was for a good cause but she complains about usurpers dogs while she usurps the nobles of Mereen. NOONE wanted Dany in their city. Also she pardons all the people who raped and pillaged her city when she took it. Another thing she hates on usurpers dogs for when she does the same thing.

Dont act like Dany is some noble Queen who is all good. She fucks up more often then not and without her dragons she would have nothing.

Once again i will say i cant wait for the forum battles when these next books come out. God damn WOW is gonna be good

I can see Dany becoming an antagonist to most of Westeros. However, since GRRM is not writing a classic style story where the 'hero' fights a 'villain' - I dont see Dany becoming the villian.

I have always believed that (if) Dany returns to Westeros, she will be returning to rule Westeros. I dont see her being the queen to someones king. While I think that R + L = J is true, I dont believe that there will be a Dany + Jon story. I think that Dany plans to be THE ruler of Westeros.

I have always thought the "Others' and WWs would be the antagonists of the story - but, after 5 books the 'Others' and WWs have not been developed that much, so I m not sure anymore.

i could see a scenario where the 7 kingdoms finally are united ( by Jon, Stannis, whomever) and about to fight the real battle with the others, only to have Dany show up with her dragons and dathraki warriors to "claim what is mine with fire and blood" completely ignoring the others and devastating the 7 kingdoms allowing the others to overrun them. That would set her up as a pretty major antagonist.

But leave it to Stannis on his own to burn starving men for eating dead bodies. A thought he'd himself considered during a desperate siege.

Damnit butter bumps leave stannis alone! He burned them as a message that canibalism won't be accepted. Also he "contemplated" it but didn't do it.

Come on, this guy literally traveled around the world for her hand. He's like the hero in every 80s movie. :P

The 80's are out of style for a reason. :P

Also, none of you guys congratulated me on 4000 posts. :crying:

That's because some of us clearly need to clean their spectacles, :P.

Congrats on 4k posts and may you post another thousand thousand!
