Top 15 Favorite Characters in ASoIaF

Minor characters deserve love.

Heh I change my favorite characters often, especially with regards to the minor ones. I remember a time I liked Mandon Moore, during my earlier days, but he has been replaced by Richard Horpe (gotta have some one-dimensional fighters there aswell!). Some are always up there, such as Stannis and Sansa, but others come and go.

15 is inordinately difficult, but:

1. Tyrion Lannister - I know, I know, he's everyone's favorite and ADWD doesn't do him any favors, but it's TYRION.

2. Varys - Speaks many of the best lines in the series; also, knows everything.

3. Sansa Stark - Because she, like, changes and stuff.

4. Jorah Mormont - Reread Dany's chapters in AGOT, ACOK, and ASOS. Jorah's decline is far and away the best part, and seeing him in Dance was fascinating.

5. Theon Greyjoy - Speaking of character arcs...

6. Jaime Lannister - Probably Martin's best creation.

7. Cersei Lannister - People love to shit on AFFC, but every single Cersei moment in that book is a goldmine of lolz. And to think that early on, she seemed a competent Game player. A terrible person, but I'm invested in her fate anyway.

8. Arya Stark - You know why. Incidentally, though, this is more for Clash and Storm than the latest books.

9. Aemon Targaryen - Bar none, the saddest death in the series.

10. Brynden Tully - BLACKFISH

11. Jon Snow - He's okay in Game, but I really like as the series goes on. Dance was better to him than to Dany.

12. Davos Seaworth - Only sane man.

13. Robert Baratheon - The best example of a great man rendered pitiful.

14. Sandor Clegane - The man who hated the conception of knighthood, but managed to be more knightly than many of his peers (I'm not a Sandor apologist, either - he's still a pretty awful man).

15. Catelyn Stark - I think she's realistic in her strengths and flaws.

Looking at the list, it seems mostly arbitrary, and ever suspect to change. Honorable mentions amongst the second-tier characters include Edd, Belwas, Addam Marbrand, and Brown Ben.
