And What Are We Drinking, Again?

Nice, I love Gewürztraminer, especially with Chinese food.

Blair Athol tonight. Marshmallowy goodness.

We were watching some old Floyd shows the other week (and killing ourselves laughing) and when he visited Alsace I was suddenly gripped by a craving for dry Riesling, then I spotted some in Waitrose when buying my lunch today. :)

Cocktails!

First was a Manhattan, which is a bit of a Friday tradition here at Casa X. The phrase "Friday Manhattan" is part of our local vocabulary. Rittenhouse rye, Carpano Antica vermouth, and Fee Brother's whiskey barrel aged aromatic bitters. 2:1 (ounces) on the spirits, two dashes of the bitters.

Now we are enjoying Pegu Club cocktails, which feature gin, Cointreau, lime (NO SCURVY!), and bitters (Angostura and orange). 3:2:1 (half-ounces) on the spirits, one dash each of the bitters.

Probably moving onto the homebrew next, for the safety of all involved.

brooklyn lager as I ride the train home.

Pardon my ignorance, but is it cool to imbibe on trains?

I've never ridden one here on the west coast. My only experience is Europe where it most certainly was kosher to drink sur la chu chu, but I have a hard time picturing the Puritans in the US allowing this.
