Arianne Martell - casting

I think we all understand that, however it would be nice if we had somebody who resembled the character in the books. Certainly Arianne's attractiveness is a big part of her character and how she interacts with people.

I agree with this. Momoa was suggested based on his looks.

Ya but they're probably gonna play it safe and just go by how GRRM described Arianne in the books in which she is specifically described as only being similar to her Norvosi mother in height not looks....Put it this way in a recent interview GRRM said Magali Villeneuve's illustration of Arianne was the favorite illustration he's seen of her so far :

Yeah, and I know they're all about simplifying and cutting when they can. I will say, that illustration is probably the best one I've seen for Arianne yet.

Well based on who they chose to cast as Oberyn(Perdo Pascal) I'm thinking they'll cast someone that looks along the lines of Emmanuelle Chriqui.

Dark hair, dark eyes, beautiful olive skin, exotic ethnic background(Moroccan/Israeli ancestry), and she has a prior working relationship with HBO when she was on Entourage. Although she's not quite as 'curvy' as Arianne is described to be, looks wise I still think she's perfect!

She will make a great Tyene Sand, she has that innocent look.

Isn't Tyene meant to have blonde hair and caucasian skin?I can see Emmanuelle Chriqui being Lady Nym though. As for Arianne, going with the strong British cast, I'd have India de Beaufort who has been mentioned on here before. Or Zuleikha Robinson might be a good fit as well, whether she's in the next season of Homeland I don't know.

Howdy... my first post.

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned Aishwarya Rai Bachchan yet for Arianne Martell ... but she was in the atrocity "The Last Legion" along with about a half dozen GoT cast members, and she has "the look". She might not be *my* first choice, but it seems that there is a casting connection between that movie and GoT.

The Last Legion: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462396/

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0706787/?ref_=tt_cl_t3

Another good choice. Welcome by the way, and enjoy.

A bit too old and far too much of a big name in India to star in the show. If you're looking for Indian actresses to play Arianne, my pick is Janina Gavankar, who definitely has the Dornish look about her.

Also, welcome to the forums

Thank you sir. As one whose ungracefully stumbled into middle age, they all seem young to me :) ... But I see your point. Teanna Merryweather perhaps?
