Jon Snow not being dead. Thanks for the 5 year cliffhanger.

Tyrion's immortality is pretty ridiculous. Shouldn't he have died in battle or drowned or have greyscale?

The RW happening perhaps 5 minutes before Arya FINALLY gets reunited with her family? That was just cruel.

The undefeatable and great Khal Drogo died from a festered wound (could be magic, but :ohwell: ...)

^ This. And basically Arianne's entire plot to crown Myrcella. Seemed rushed and pointless to me. :dunno: (Or maybe I just dont like Arianne)

Amen! I guess that comes with being GRRM's favorite character :)

Cruel, but better than her being reunited and then made part of the wedding reception.

I personally think he was committing "suicide". The guy was struggling so much with the fact that he'd "soiled" his cloak and I guess the Queenmaking fiasco was the last straw.

I'm going with Catelyn being brought back as Lady Stoneheart myself. This manages to spoil all the poignancy built up through her murder much earlier in the book.

I always laugh about Tyrion somersaulting off of some wall in Winterfell because he wanted to talk to Jon. It never fails to put me in a better mood.

SO absurd.

For me when that Unsullied went to a prostitute for a hug. Good grief.

I thought that was rather poignant, personally.

IMHO, death would have been by far the kinder fate for Catelyn.

Brienne having half her face bitten off by Biter.

I know that GRRM likes to maim his characters, and suffering severe injury supposedly makes a character more likely to get out of the series alive, but - sheesh! - poor Brienne was challenged enough in the looks department to begin with and the Hannibal Lecter moment was realy unnecessary IMO
