Sooner or later he'll be found out and killed unless of course Daddy has left him in charge and he has some level of authoritas that makes his men fear and/or respect him - or his father - enough to let him get away with the crazy stuff. Even then, "mad" monarchs throughout history almost inevitably had pretty short reigns that ended badly. He is a great actor, and can be really creepy (as needed here). For those who don't know him, he was part of British show Misfits, really great role...
