We bought this, and do it up every Sunday. So far everything has been delicious.

(can't speak to the Dornish foods though. The main cook refuses to use that section until the show introduces a Dornish main character.)

I think I'm gonna go buy a webcam to record that hour, see how many people go crazy at the end of the hour. What's a good program for recording, and editing?

I wonder if they have that book down at Barnes and Noble. Would be worth a look first at the recipes to see if anything applies first, before buying.

I just bought it. Thanks for the recommendation.

Who is the 'main cook' of which you speak?

Re: Frey pies. Urban legend has it that pork tastes the most like human flesh (not that I'd know firsthand about that, unless biting my nails counts!). Even better, pork prices (assuming you're in the U.S.) just keep dropping. Individual small pies (pasties/empanadas/hand pies) would be easier to handle, through a "grete pie" would be both more authentic and a show-stopper! You can Google "Melton Mowbray pork pie" to find a British recipe that is traditionally served room-temperature if you like the convenience of "bake a day or two in advance, take out of fridge/cooler an hour before the party." (Of course the Frey pies in the books weren't served at RW, but the Unsullied may well want a bit of symbolic revenge during or after the episode).

Four and twenty blackfish, served in a pie...or, perhaps [Tully] red salmon would be more appropriate, together with braised stag (wasn't it rare to find one of those in beginning of AGOT when the dead mother direwolf was found?)

For decorations, a weirwood tree face. Perhaps weeping blood? People will recognize it now, after 3.08, and assume it means something's going to happen with Sam.

Frey pie wouldn't mean anything to non-readers. Save that for a couple seasons down the line. Direwolf cookies/bread would be awesome, though.

If you can get hold of a hat like those the Freys were wearing, put it on before welcoming them into the house.

How about you drape your viewing room with the twin castles? People will think you are a genuine Frey fan.

You can convince them( perhaps start a couple of days beforehand) that freys are the real heroes in the series. Loudly hoot for freys , especially when Walder frey shows up.

When "IT" actually happens, continue this charade.

everyone will be like "F**k this guy!"

Then you tell them that later in the series the evilness of Starks are revealed and make some more story.(If you want to help them cope after that Massacre.)

Or else, you can keep shouting "STAB HIM IN THE LEFT, GO TWIN CASTles! GOOOOOOO FREYS!"

Yes, do this if you want to rid yourself of pesky "friends".

Well, the drinks so far look like:

Sangria

Mead

The Kraken mixed drinks (it's a strong rum)

A friend is bringing "Mocktails" (non alcoholic drinks based off of the kid characters like Arya, Bran)

Still working on the rest of the meal, but for sure there will be Red Velvet Cake and shaped cookies for dessert.

Of course, if ALL your food is red, it'll clue your friends that something's up, especially if you use food coloring on things that aren't naturally red! Something like chili wouldn't seem too out-of-place, especially if you make it with red beans and red onions. Or red beans & rice with ham (if you have an Asian market near you, you might be able to find "red cargo rice," which is much like brown rice, only a much prettier brownish-red).

So the dinner looks like this:

Goldfish crackers and GoT shaped cookies for snacks

Fish Tarts for an appetizer

Leek Soup with homemade bread for 2nd course

Honeyed chicken and buttered carrots for the entree

and red velvet cake for dessert.

Aside from the cake and cookies, the rest are from that official cookbook. Can't wait to make all this!
