The show version of Selyse is very Lysa esque, but the book version just seemed more like generally cold and unpleasant to an extreme person with a wispy moustache to me. A House who's sigil is a universal symbol of cunning and intelligence, and yet, there not a single member of that House that displays such traits. the one who ran away and stuck his uncle with the castellan job is kind of smart I guess. If Garlan succeeds, he's a poor relative living off the Hightowers generosity. If the ironborn succeed, he becomes a thrall and Garlan a corpse. Nothing about it is cunning. I never thought much of Axell one way or the other before but now I realize he's actually on of GRRMs finest deceptions and most complex characters in the series.
