People who know about Jon's real parents
-Eddard Stark (dead)
-Howland Reed
-Wylla, the wetnurse, she was most likely at the TOJ and if not she was at least with Eddard and Jon all the way from Starfall to Winterfell. She definitely knows important things.

Possible people who may know about Jon's real parents
-Jojen and Meera Reed. Howland may have told them, but since they havn't mentioned it yet I bet they don't know.
-Maybe Ashara Dayne (Presumably Dead). If Wylla knew and and she was a Dayne wetnurse, Ashara probably knew.
-Varys, he seems to know everything lol.
-Benjen Stark. Eddard may have confided in Benjen since Benjen would want to protect Lyanna's son too. Or Benjen could have seen through Eddard lying about the cause of Lyanna's death and that the baby was his bastard. Benjen knew Eddard well and could see that it was out of character for Eddard to have a bastard.
-Bloodraven. Saw it in some cool vision, or through a raven, through a weirwood or warg thing a long time ago.
-Maybe Bran in the next books. If Eddard had a discussion with Benjen, it very well may have been in the Godswood of Winterfell in front of the Weirwood tree and Bran can now see everything that has happened through the Winterfell Weirwood tree.

Did I leave anything out?

Questions: Stuff we don't Know (Trying to keep the questions to stuff before the beginning of the books)
1. Where was Lyanna when she was abducted/ran away with Rhaegar?
2. How did Eddard find out to go to the TOJ? Who told him Lyanna's location?
3. Were there more people at the TOJ other than Lyanna and the 3 KG? Wylla?
4. What was the battle with the KG like? How did Howland Reed save Eddard's life?
5. How did Jon get to Winterfell? Did Eddard carry him all the way or was he sent on a ship? Did Eddard leave Starfall on a ship to KL or did he march to KL?
6. Did Eddard bring back anything of significance to put in Lyanna's grave/tomb? Torheen's Crown? Dragon Egg? Targaryen wedding ring/cloak? Rhaegar's Harp?
7. Why did Ashara Dayne apparently commit suicide? Who fathered her baby? Did the baby actually die?
8. Why did Benjen join the Nights Watch? Was it because he did something or knew something?

1. Where was Lyanna when she was abducted/ran away with Rhaegar?- I read a theory that she was in Harrenhal and that Oswell Whent helped Lyanna and Rhaegar sneak out without being seen, as the Whents owned Harrenhal at the time.

2. How did Eddard find out to go to the TOJ? Who told him Lyanna's location?

3. Were there more people at the TOJ other than Lyanna and the 3 KG? Wylla?- I think that it was just Wylla and the KG there at the ToJ, but they got supplies from Starfall.

4. What was the battle with the KG like? How did Howland Reed save Eddard's life?- I've always thought that Howland snuck behind Ser Arthur, as he was going to bring Dawn down on Ned, and then stabbed him in the back with his spear. I done a topic asking how people thought thought how the ToJ played out.

5. How did Jon get to Winterfell? Did Eddard carry him all the way or was he sent on a ship? Did Eddard leave Starfall on a ship to KL or did he march to KL?- I think Ned rode back to Winterfell as it's said that Lady Dustin hated Ned because he brought back Lord Dustin's red stallion but not the other bodies.

6. Did Eddard bring back anything of significance to put in Lyanna's grave/tomb? Torheen's Crown? Dragon Egg? Targaryen wedding ring?- I think that in Lyanna's tomb there is Torrhen's Crown and maybe a Targ wedding cloak.

7. Why did Ashara Dayne apparently commit suicide?- I think that if she did die it's because Brandon(the man who got her pregnant), her baby child and her brother had died.

8. Is Robert Arryn the son of Littlefinger? Does it matter?- I don't think it'll have any importance if its true, except that it might effect Sansa and get her plotting against LF if they find out about Robin being LF's after he's killed him and doesn't feel any remorse.

9. What happened to Gerion Lannister? Is he alive? Did he find anything? Does it matter?- I have two theories on Gerion. He's stuck in Valyria and Tyrion and Dany will find him there on their way to Westeros and he'll give Tyrion Brightroar, or he's the Corsair King from ASOS and whilst sailing to Westeros Tyrion and Dany will come across him and he'll sail with them to Westeros and be her Admiral.

10. What exactly happened at the Tragedy of Summerhall?- Egg was trying to hatch a Dragon's egg and the fire got out of control and burned Summerhall.

11. Are the dragon eggs that were in the fire at the Tragedy of Summerhall the same dragon eggs Dany received from Illyrio? Are there more dragon Eggs?- Unless Dragon egg colours can change I don't think they're the same. And I think there are more Dragon eggs hidden away on Dragonstone.

12. Did baby Aegon really die? Did Varys actually think to switch the babies out? Does Varys have a hidden backstory? Blackfyre?- Yes Aegon Targaryen did die and Varys is a secret Blackfyre, sister to Serra (Illyrio's second wife), and is plotting with Illyrio to put Aegon (Blackfyre) on the throne but as a Targ. Aegon doesn't know he's a Blackfyre.

13. Was Rhaegar going to take the throne from Aerys if he returned successful from the Battle of the Trident?- I think he'd have taken the throne from Aerys but not forcefully and would have done gently. He would have then probably tried to treaty with Ned and Jon.

14. Who is the Valanqar that will kill Cersei? Means "Little Brother," Could it be Jaime or Tyrion? Or some less literal meaning?- I think it's Jaime, as it's said that he came out holding Cersei's heels; making him younger than her.

15. Are Tyrion, Jaime and Cersei definitely Tywin's offspring? Did Aerys fulfill his desires and impregnate Joanna at some point?- I don't believe that any of the, are Aerys'. If Tywin got any hint that they were Aerys' then he'd have gone mad at Aerys, and if Tyrion wasn't his, Tywin would've had him killed. There's also one of Tywin's relatives saying Tyrion is a true born child of Tywin's.

16. Is Euron Greyjoy a threat? What's with his eye? Did he really throw away a dragon egg? Is that dragon horn for real? Does he know things about Valyria?- I think he'll be a threat to The Reach and Oldtown, until (F)Aegon comes along and crushes his army with help from Dorne and Stormlands. I think he only shows his black eye when he's angry, and that he used his Dragon's egg to pay a FM to kill Balon.

17. Is there a connection between the "Red Comet" Rhaegar sees on the night of Aegon's conception and the "Red Comet" that happens during the books?- Never really thought about that. It could be the same comet going around again.

18. A "Bleeding Star" heralds the coming of the Prince that was Promised. Is the "Red Comet" a "Bleeding Star"?- Being a believer that Jon is AAR/TPTWP, I think that the "Bleeding Star" is Ser Patrek of King's Mountain, who's sigil has a star on it, and he's killed by Wun Wun in Jon's last ADWD chapter.

19. Is the Prince that was Promised the same as Azor Ahai? If so who? Dany or Jon or someone else?- Yes, AAR and TPTWP are the same. GRRM confirmed it in the Religions of Westeros video. Jon is AAR/TPTWP, Dany is the red herring.

20. If "The Dragon must have three heads," and that means three people, who are the three heads? Dany, Jon, Tyrion or someone else?- It's doesn't mean three people. It's one dragon with three heads, one person with three sides to them. It's Jon, Jon Stark, Jon Snow, Jon Targaryen etc.

Yes theories, but of you look them up properly they are supported with evidence.

I know, don't need to beat me bloody. I was just pointing out that your 12's answer sounded way too sure unlike the rest. ;) And while Aegon being fake has a lot of evidence, the rest doesn't, not really.

Sorry, didn't mean to angry or anything. Maybe it's because I don't put "I think" in front of it.

1. Where was Lyanna when she was abducted/ran away with Rhaegar? Is there reason to think they didn't head straight for the ToJ? I was under the impression they went straight there.

2. How did Eddard find out to go to the TOJ? Who told him Lyanna's location? I think it had to have been someone at the seige of Storm's End. If Ned had learned about it at King's Landing he would have gone straight there and let someone else deal with the seige. Do we know who was leading the Targ forces there?

3. Were there more people at the TOJ other than Lyanna and the 3 KG? Wylla?I think that Raeghar wanted secrecy and would likely not have had servants there, but there is that possibility. I don't think that Wylla was there as they most liekly didn't know what would happen and that the baby would need a wetnurse. Although it was common among some for highborn ladies not to nurse their own, it seems that wasn't the case for the ladies of the North (iirc Cat made mention of this when she was remembering Rob as a baby).

4. What was the battle with the KG like? How did Howland Reed save Eddard's life?I've heard many theories on this and most seem unliekly. Howland wasn't a knight, and from what we know of his people it doesn't sound like they practices with swords (Meera learned to use the net and trident from her father). So hwoever it was, it doesn't seem like he stepped in for single combat.

5. How did Jon get to Winterfell? Did Eddard carry him all the way or was he sent on a ship? Did Eddard leave Starfall on a ship to KL or did he march to KL? I agree with KotS that Ned road there with Jon and his wetnurse.

6. Did Eddard bring back anything of significance to put in Lyanna's grave/tomb? Torheen's Crown? Dragon Egg? Targaryen wedding ring? I think that given some of the possible forshadowing we have seen from Bran's vision of his father there "wanting to tell him something about Jon" and Jon's own vision of the Stark crypt there is something there that might hint at his parentage.

7. Why did Ashara Dayne apparently commit suicide? If Brandon was the father of her child, the combination of the loss of him, her child, and her beloved brother might have all been a factor. Although there are many who speculate that she isn't really dead since "her body was never recovered" I don't believe that is the case.

8. Is Robert Arryn the son of Littlefinger? Does it matter If Robert was his child, that might change his plans because then Robert would be a bastard born out of wedlock and not the rightful heir, and the lands and titles would pass on to Harry the Heir without necessitating the death of Robert. However, even if this was the case I don't see this being revealed by Littlefinger because then the bannermen of House Arryn would look at him with even more distrust.

9. What happened to Gerion Lannister? Is he alive? Did he find anything? Does it matter? I've also wondered if that would play out. Both him and Lightbringer have been mentioned more than a few times.

10. What exactly happened at the Tragedy of Summerhall?Again, I agree with KotS.

11. Are the dragon eggs that were in the fire at the Tragedy of Summerhall the same dragon eggs Dany received from Illyrio? Are there more dragon Eggs? Although it never mentioned where he got them from it would seem highly unlikely that they were the same. Also, since they were believed to be petrified and not likely to be hatched it would suggest that there might be others whose owners might also believe they are just stone.

12. Did baby Aegon really die? Did Varys actually think to switch the babies out? Does Varys have a hidden backstory? Blackfyre? Again, I agree with KotS

13. Was Rhaegar going to take the throne from Aerys if he returned successful from the Battle of the Trident?I think that he would have. How is another question as he doesn't seem like he would turn kinslayer. Even if he ordered another he would still be considered kinslayer.

14. Who is the Valanqar that will kill Cersei? Means "Little Brother," Could it be Jaime or Tyrion? Or some less literal meaninThe more I think about this the more I wonder why "Valanqar" is in High Valaryon when the rest is in the common tounge of Westeros. Could it be because it isn't litteral, such as the name of a Ship? Or is there a secondary meaning in Valaryon that we don't know about?

15. Are Tyrion, Jaime and Cersei definitely Tywin's offspring? Did Aerys fulfill his desires and impregnate Joanna at some point?I don't think so. I sincerly doubt that Tywin would remain the kings Hand if he suspected anything along those lines.

16. Is Euron Greyjoy a threat? What's with his eye? Did he really throw away a dragon egg? Is that dragon horn for real? Does he know things about Valyrian? I don't believe the horn works the way he said it does. I doubt he would entrust something of that magnitude with his brother who he knows hates him. As for the egg, the price of a FM is high, I'm sure that would suffice. I think that he sent his brother off to what he assumes to be almost certain death so he has no one who would betray him. What his other plans are I cannot say. I wish we knew what was in the Kraken chapter GRRM wanted to read.

17. Is there a connection between the "Red Comet" Rhaegar sees on the night of Aegon's conception and the "Red Comet" that happens during the books? Comets like to come around every decade or so, so that would make sense. But what wouldn't is there being only one comet that they ever see.

18. A "Bleeding Star" heralds the coming of the Prince that was Promised. Is the "Red Comet" a "Bleeding Star"? I don't know what the astronomers of Westeros know about celestial beings, if they know the difference from a comet and a star, or if the sun is a star so it's hard to say. It could also be metaphoric such as person whose banner is a star.

19. Is the Prince that was Promised the same as Azor Ahai? If so who? Dany or Jon or someone else? I always believeed these were two different proficies, but not necessarily two different people. Azor Ahai seems to originate in Asshai, and the PwwP with the Targ Princess on Dragonstone. My question is wouldn't Azor Ahai be reborn to the same place where he originated and not a continent away?

20. If "The Dragon must have three heads," and that means three people, who are the three heads? Dany, Jon, Tyrion or someone else?I also subscribe to the "one person with three sides" theory.

Additional questions I have:

If Robert was 19 at the time of the Rebelion (I'm assuming your timeline is correct) why was he still a ward at Eyrie? His parents were already five years dead and he was the reigning Lord of Storm's End. Additionally, why would Aerys demand him as well as Ed after his father and brother were killed? It sounds like Aerys trusted his father (enough to choose a bride for his son). Was it just because the two were close and he thought he would take Ned's side?

Also, who was Jon's wetnurse at Winterfell? We know from Cat's story that she and Jon were already installed when she arrived with Baby Rob. It cannot be Wylla because A.) People there would have said something about the rumour that she was Jon's mother and not just Ashara. B.) She was in Dorne to become Edric's wetnurse about 5ish years later.

This is my first post and I'm still in the process of rereading the books for the second time, so I appologize if I overlooked something.

Hmmm thanks for your input. Thanks for confirming to TPTWP and AA were the same thing. That "Ser Patrek of King's Mountain is the "Bleeding Star" is an interesting idea.

Since all of the questions can't be answered yet, I am sure everyone will have differing opinions. Here are my personal theories for the questions.

1. Where was Lyanna when she was abducted/ran away with Rhaegar? Yeah, Harrenehall probably makes the most sense. Or maybe she was staying in Riverrun getting ready for Brandon's wedding.

2. How did Eddard find out to go to the TOJ? Who told him Lyanna's location? Here is my speculative theory, So a raven from Arthur Dayne to Head of House Dayne/Ashara Dayne says that they need a wet nurse at the Tower of Joy. House Dayne sends Wylla to Tower of Joy. Starfall gets a raven from KL saying the war is over and Robert is King and the Targaryens are dead. Ashara sends Eddard a raven, since they now each other from dancing at Harrenhall, saying that her brother is at the TOJ and to do him no harm and just tell him to come home since the war is over. Eddard goes to TOJ and then most everyone dies. Eddard, Howland Reed, baby Jon and Wylla return Arthur's sword to Starfall. Ashara blames herself for her brother's death and commits suicide.

3. Were there more people at the TOJ other than Lyanna and the 3 KG? Wylla? I think they probably wanted to keep the baby real secret so it makes sense to let only the KG and Wylla know.

4. What was the battle with the KG like? How did Howland Reed save Eddard's life? Pure guess, maybe Howland threw a net over Arthur Dayne and allowed Eddard to kill him.

5. How did Jon get to Winterfell? Did Eddard carry him all the way or was he sent on a ship? Did Eddard leave Starfall on a ship to KL or did he march to KL? I think Eddard would have kept Jon with him no matter what to protect him, so I am not a fan of the Jon and Howland take a ship up to the North while Eddard goes to KL. Since Eddard took Willem Dustin's horse back to Lady Dustin in Barrowtown, they probably just rode all the way from Starfell to KL to Winterfell.

6. Did Eddard bring back anything of significance to put in Lyanna's grave/tomb? Torheen's Crown? Dragon Egg? Targaryen wedding ring? Targaryen Wedding cloak is a good idea, but yeah I agree something to signify that a Lyanna was married to Rhaegar. Torheen's Crown and a dragon egg would be super cool though lol.

7. Why did Ashara Dayne apparently commit suicide? See the question above about how Eddard found out about Lyanna's location. Ashara feels guilty about indirectly killing her brother about telling Eddard Lyanna and Arthur's location.

8. Is Robert Arryn the son of Littlefinger? Does it matter? I don't think it matters, but yeah I think Robert probably is Littlefingers. Jon Arryn was described as a fairly big guy with broad shoulders and Robert is very small and sickly. Plus, it would just make Littlefinger look even more ruthless if he kills his own son for his ambitious purposes.

9. What happened to Gerion Lannister? Is he alive? Did he find anything? Does it matter? Don't think it matters. Probably just an interesting story.

10. What exactly happened at the Tragedy of Summerhall? Yeah there was a big fire that kills Egg, Dunk, small Dunk and maybe small dunk's wife Jenny of Oldstones. Very interesting event but not much is known, might have something to do with trying to birth dragon eggs. Hopefully, we find out more about this in a future Dunk and Egg novella.

11. Are the dragon eggs that were in the fire at the Tragedy of Summerhall the same dragon eggs Dany received from Illyrio? Are there more dragon Eggs? It sounds like there are more dragon eggs in the world other than Dany's eggs, but the only other eggs we have actually seen in the books are the eggs from the 3rd Dunk and Egg novella.

12. Did baby Aegon really die? Did Varys actually think to switch the babies out? Does Varys have a hidden backstory? Blackfyre? I also think new Aegon is a fake. I am not that sure Varys is a secret Blackfyre but I think Aegon might be a descendant of the Blackfyre's. He is the "Mummers Dragon."

13. Was Rhaegar going to take the throne from Aerys if he returned successful from the Battle of the Trident? Yeah I think Rhaegar was going to take control of the crown and make Aerys step down. But he waited too long and it was too late and never happened.

14. Who is the Valanqar that will kill Cersei? Means "Little Brother," Could it be Jaime or Tyrion? Or some less literal meaning? I also think it will be Jaime to kill Cersie. The whole die by the hands thing will be cool if Jaime strangles her while using his golden hand.

15. Are Tyrion, Jaime and Cersei definitely Tywin's offspring? Did Aerys fulfill his desires and impregnate Joanna at some point? I think Jaime and Cersei are definitely Tywin's. They have perfect Lannister traits. Now Tyrion has very light blonde hair and one green eye and one black eye. The green eye could be for the Lannister (Joanna) and the black eye could be for the Targaryen (Purple+Green=Black). Plus, Tywin says a few things that could be interpreted that he was not positive Tyrion was his child. Not sure I believe this but I wouldn't be shocked if Tyrion turned out to be a Targaryen in blood.

16. Is Euron Greyjoy a threat? What's with his eye? Did he really throw away a dragon egg? Is that dragon horn for real? Does he know things about Valyria? I think he is very dangerous but will probably be put into place when the dragons come across the sea. If he did have a dragon egg, it would be a possible payment for a Faceless Man to kill Balon, that makes sense.

17. Is there a connection between the "Red Comet" Rhaegar sees on the night of Aegon's conception and the "Red Comet" that happens during the books? I think the Red Comet in the books represents Dany's Dragons about to be born. Don't know about the first red comet. Was someone else born around 9 months before Aegon?

18. A "Bleeding Star" heralds the coming of the Prince that was Promised. Is the "Red Comet" a "Bleeding Star"? Could be I have no idea. Arthur Dayne's sword is made from a falling star, if it gets bloody again it will be a bloody star. The Ser Patrick of King's Mountain getting killed with blood going over his sigil star is interesting.

19. Is the Prince that was Promised the same as Azor Ahai? TPTWP and AA are the same person! If so who? Dany or Jon or someone else? My bet is on Jon.

20. If "The Dragon must have three heads," and that means three people, who are the three heads? Dany, Jon, Tyrion or someone else? I think that it does represent 3 different people riding the 3 dragons and I think that it will be Dany riding Drogon, Jon riding Viserion, and I am not sure on the last dragon lol.

Like I said earlier, these are all guesses and these questions don't have answers yet.

Maybe the simple answer is the best. Who could have told Eddard where to find Lyanna? Barristan Selmy.

Facing battle, Rhaegar had three knights of the KG with him, 3 men sworn to the crown. He must have told them where to find their lord commander and probably gave them instructions in the event of his death.

Ser Barristan survived the Trident, wounded. (Robert sent his own maester to tend his wounds.)

Rhaegar was dead.

He might not have told Robert: I'm sure Ned would have asked.

Whether it happened at the Trident, or in Kings Landing; I'm sure Ned would have asked.

My inclination? Kings Landing. If a wounded Robert could make it to Kings Landing, I'm sure Ser Barristan could. Probably in the same wagon.

Ned's wrath at the deaths of Elia and her children should have been enough to convince Barristan that Lyanna had nothing to fear from her brother. I think Ser Barristan told Ned where to find his sister. I also think he believes Lyanna's child is dead.

I think that at the Tourney at Harrenhall, like Rooghar Targaryen said Lyanna dressed as the night of the laughing tree, defeated the three others and hid. When Prince Rhaegar went searching he found that it was her, but at the same time as Benjen Stark. And I think this is when Rhaegar and Lyanna fell in love. And so when the Prince won the tourney, he named Lyanna the queen of love and beauty because not only to pay tribute the the knight of the laughing tree but because he loved her. Then they went freely together from there.

Basically this is all the same as said above, except that Benjen knows. He feels guilty and wants to keep the secret, so he takes the black.

Evidence: He took the black some time between the tourney and the death of his father and eldest brother. ( no one would take the black just after their father and brother are killed, especially when they suddenly become 2nd in line with their older brother going off to fight a dangerous war) That give around a 6 months max window. And probably more like a month, as a month is the maximum time it took to find out Lyanna was missing. I doubt he would have taken the black after the news of his sister's "kidnapping." So in less then a month after the tourney, he suddenly decides to take the black. Well, what else could have been his motive?

Aderyn,

1. Lyanna was abducted/left with Rhaegar sometime after the Tourney of Harrenhall, but not right after. It is pretty vague about how long, but Brandon was at Harrenhall and he had already made it back to Winterfell and was on his way back down to Riverrun to get married to Catelyn when he found out about Lyanna being abducted. So there was some time that passed and there wouldn't be any real reason for Lyanna to linger in Harrenhall unless she wanted to stay in Harrenhall/Riverrun area to wait for the Catelyn/Brandon wedding. If Lyanna was back at Winterfell after Harrenhall and then she was "abducted" she most likely ran away to meet Rhaegar.

2. Mace Tyrell was in charge of the siege and Paxter Redwyne had the arbor fleet blocking off Shipbreakers Bay. But yeah I agree, Eddard must have found out Lyanna's location after he had arrived at Storm's End. If Eddard knew before he would have gone straight to the TOJ.

3. I know Old Nan was a wet nurse a long time ago, but I think it was because the mother died.

5. Eddard, Wylla, and Jon taking a ship from Starfall to KL is a real possibility as long as that ship had the quarters to hold a horse. Eddard could have left Wylla and Jon on the boat as he talked with Robert then hopped back on and sailed to White Harbor and then rode to Winterfell from there.

Robert was said to spend a lot of time between Storm's End and the Eyrie. He was present in Storm's End when his parents died in a big storm in Shipbreaker's Bay. Robert was not really close with his brothers and probably not that close with his parents. He was really close with Eddard and Jon Arryn. Jon Arryn took care of Robert and Eddard like they were his own sons.

Aerys sent Steffon to find Rhaegar's wife before Duskendale. After the Defiance at Duskendale, Aerys trusted almost no one. It made him grow crazy suspicious. Then at the Tourney of Harrenhall, Aerys was told by Varys that Rhaegar might be gathering friends and the high lords and try to replace him as king. So Aerys was already very suspicious the High Lords might be working to replace him. Then Brandon makes a threat on Rhaegar and Aerys decides he needs to kill Brandon and his dad Rickard and also Eddard.

Robert had an alliance with the Stark's through his betrothal to Lyanna Stark, he was like a brother to Eddard Stark, and also Robert was really proud so he was pissed that Rhaegar "abducted" his future wife. Aerys was suspicious of everyone and he had a few decent reasons to think Robert was a threat. So he wanted his head.

There is no text about who was the wet nurse for Jon and Rob in Winterfell.

Barriston and Jaime are good ideas for who told Eddard where Lyanna was being held, but they were both in King's Landing. If Eddard found out Lyanna's location in KL, he wouldn't have gone to Storm's End first to lift a siege. Eddard would have immediately gone to the Tower of Joy. Eddard went Battle of Trident ->King's Landing->Storm's End->Tower of Joy->Starfall

It only makes sense if Eddard found out about Lyanna's location while he was at Storm's End or somewhere near Storm's End.

The Tyrell's bent there knee right away once they found out Robert had won the war. It was not imperative that Eddard went to Storm's End, another commander could have done it. Lyanna would have been Eddard's #1 priority.

Now there could have been a raven from Barriston, that could have happened. Or maybe it could have been a raven from Starfall.

Thanks Rooghar for the clarification. Now I'm really curious on who at Storm's End would have known about Lyanna and the ToJ. It doesn't seem likely that it was Mace Himself or any of his sons (the oldest being crippled already and not likely in battle and Loras being too young). As for Benjen, didn't he take the black only after Ned returned from King's Landing? (There must always be a Stark at Winterfell).

No it's not. Martin has said that he invented the character Ser Patrek because he lost a football bet with a friend of his, and had to kill him spectacularly in a book. He also stated that he designed his crest off the logo for the Dallas Cowboys. It is extremely unlikely that this character is supposed to figure in to an important plot changing prophecy.

MARTIN: So I invented a character called Ser Patrek of King's Mountain and described his heraldry as looking somewhat like the heraldry of the Dallas Cowboys with the silver star on a white field. And then I had him ripped apart by a giant.

That is great. Martin is a big New York Giants fan. Great metaphor, Giant beating up on a Cowboy sigil dude lol.

Good catch, No way that guy is the "bleeding star" prophecy. Just a fun joke.

So King Aerys II attends tourney only because Varys warns him that his son Rhaegar arranged the tournament as a pretext to meet with several high lords to discuss removing Aerys as king.

Notable Great Houses of Westeros attendees of the Tourney of Harrenhal: Rhaegar Targaryen, Dragon Prince of Westeros; Robert Baratheon, High Lord of the Stormlands; Mace Tyrell, Warden of the South, Defender of the Reach; Jon Arryn, Warden of the East, Defender of the Vale; Brandon Stark, son of Warden of the North; Oberyn Martell, Brother of Lord of Starfall and Prince of Dorne, Jamie Lannister, son of Warden of the West and Hand of the King... (7 of the 9 regions represented) [Greyjoy and Tully missing] Are the Tully's there but just not in the text yet?

Other notable houses attending: Oswell Whent's brother (Lord of Harrenhal), Yoyn Royce (Lord of Runestone), Jon Connington (Lord of Griffin's Roost), Gerald Hightower (House Hightower of Oldtown), Arthur and Ashara Dayne (House Dayne of Starfall), Jonothor Darry (House Darry)... All big houses

Tourney of Harrenhal is announced by Lord Whent after his brother Oswell Whent of the Kingsguard goes and talks to his brother in Harrenhal in around 280 AL. If Oswell Whent was sent by Rhaegar to plan this tournament as a pretext to meet with several high lords, it worked very well. This Tournament has representatives of most of the major houses in Westeros. Assuming that this was true and the Tournament was a planned meeting place for powerful lords to meet to discuss the removal of Aerys as king, Why would Varys tell Aerys about this meeting?

Aerys is already mad, he has bad relations with his very effective hand Tywin, and by all accounts Rhaegar would have been a great king. Was Varys extremely loyal to Aerys or did he have some Blackfyre scheme already planned 15 years before GOT? This sounds very similar to why Varys killed Kevan Lannister, he wanted there to be a mess in Westeros and Aerys was much more likely to have a volatile kingdom than Rhaegar who everyone adored.

Damn I was really digging the bleeding star theory, but yea seems unlikely now. Who knows though? GRRM will never shock me again! Love the timeline but think its presumptuous to declare Lyanna to be the KotLT just yet. I agree she is a strong candidate, of only two IMO I'll never buy Benjen being him, but the evidence for her is no stronger than for Howland IMO. I'm actually working on am interesting theory about that. I'm sure no one has mentioned it before, and while crackpot at first glance begins to make sense the more you think it over. Only problem is its completely circumstantial, and I've been scouring the books looking for any text to lend credence before i go public and get laughed off the forum lol

The War of the Ninepenny Kings can be updated a little. Instead of 259AC, It happened during Jaehaerys' reign (259-262AC). Barristan killed Maelys, and only then got admitted to the KG, when he was 23 years old. Barristan was born in 237AC, meaning he was 23 in 260AC and 261AC. With 261AC as the last possible moment for Barristan to have been admitted to the KG, the War of the Ninepenny Kings thus took place before this, meaning 261AC is the last possible moment of the War of the Ninepenny Kings to have possibly happened, and 259AC the earliest.

Also, Baelish was born in 268AC (not 266AC).

How did you reach the conclusion on Brandon Stark's birth year? How did you eliminate the possibility of 260AC?

For Ned the same. How did you eliminate the possibility of 262AC for Ned?

Stannis was born in 264AC, not 265AC.

And the Hedge Knight takes place in 209AC (while you've placed all it's events in 208AC). The Sworn Sword takes place in 210AC. Small things, but still.
